Santa tucked a ultrasonic cleaner under the tree this year. Anyone have any tips to get the most out of it? It looks just like the 2.5 l one at Harbor Freight. Hoping it'll help with the Firestorm carbs and small bits.
Right now I'm leaning toward dish liquid and water to help degrease bits.
I use one all the time mix Pine -sol and water about 50/50 works very well and leaves no residue after ,dish soap can leave a whitish film if not rinsed very well.
I'm sure Pine Sol will work when properly diluted, works great on greasy floors, but keep in mind it is acidic (pH 2-3). It will corrode certain metals, such as Al and zinc, if left exposed long enough. I'd look to more specific, neutral-pH, ultrasonic cleaners for something as delicate as a carb. Some have had issues with Pine Sol: http://www.goldwingf...sol-my-ass.html
Thanks for the heads up on the Pinesol Marsman. Will have to be careful if I go that way. My unit has a max run time of 8 minutes at a go so I'll have to check it regularly anyway.
The links you sent were great, but shipping it north of the border could be a problem. Should be able to track some down semi-locally though.
