Givi rack for topbox/luggage.

Hello,

I would like to fit a GIVI E53 Maxia topbox from my other bike onto my 2000 VFR800.

Does anyone know of a GIVI part number for the rack that would fit onto the VFR800's subframe to hold the topbox?

Any feedback? Does the weight of a loaded topbox throw off the handling of the VFR??

I've got one for my 2000.

The bike handles fine fully loaded.

I've got a Givi Wingrack on my 1996.  It allows mounting one (top only), two (both sides) or three bags (all three) at a time.  I guess you could put one on one side if you wanted to, but it would look like butt.

So far i've only ridden it with an E360 mounted in the top position.  I'm not the knee-dragging type, but the only difference I can tell is that I keep looking in the rear-view mirrors to check that it's still there.  This really is the only way to travel!  I may even retire my tank bag.

I had GIVI install it at BikeWeek several years ago.
I have the second to the largest top case with the passenger backrest.
I also had the top rack installed on top of the case so I could bungie crap to the top.
You can never carry to much gear when you travel.

I also made a brake light in the top reflector on the back of the trunk.

Nice pictures.. any chance you could take a few pictures of the mounting rack itself with the seat off the bike?

I would like to see how the mounting brackets are attached to the subframe.

They bolt into the grab handle holes.

I have the same thing on my 99. Been there for 4 years. As long as you don't put lead weights in it, you'll be fine. They bolt on where the pass. handles were. Very effective, pretty ughly. I am real satisfied with the performance, though.

If you could please take a picture of the rack mounting point.

I'm trying to manage what little space I have under the seat, with PowerCommancder, GPS hardwire and heated clothing pigtail... I would like to know if the GIVI rack mounting brackets would interfere with everything else.
