In an old topic I described how the silver hardbags are no longer available as a kit--they must now be purchased individually as replacement parts (at a higher price). Any who, I did that and after hours of installing brackets, I found Honda had sent two left bags. The dealer re-ordered a right bag. When I went in to exchange my second left bag for the right bag I noticed the right bag did not have a quality control inspection paper in it, nor the two-page instructions, and most importantly, not the extra lock cylinder. Both the left bags had these items. I told the parts man this was a returned to stock item and asked for what I had paid for--a new right bag. He was not happy. The bag also had a flaw in the finish on the top side. Another bag was reordered. I got back from out of town the other day and there was a message to call the parts guy. He said he got in another right bag, but it was the same as the first one--no lock cylinder, no inspection paper, no instructions, and a similar flaw. I told him it's not a new bag. He said he called Honda parts in Atlanta and was told since the bags were originally sold in kits, that the extra lock, instructions, and inspection paper were only in the left bag. I told him that was BS. I called Honda customer service and related the above. He called back the next day saying he had talked to the parts man. The customer service guy was agreeing with the parts man. Without continuing this saga anymore, can anyone who has purchased the bags--either as a kit, or individually--tell me how they were packaged?
