New Video Release
I was looking in my personal picture archive and came across a wonderful ride my Friends Craig, Bill, and I did way back in May of 2003. Bill (Reddog) was riding his 2002 Vtec, Craig (ColoSprVFR) was riding his brand new 2002 as well and I remember is as one of those perfect days for riding, not too windy, just a sunny warm spring day. I confess I had completely forgot about this set of video I shot, and after looking at it decided I should make a new collage in streaming media, I remember I did not use it cause there was actually a bug stuck on the lens toward the end but its not too bad. I think you will enjoy it

We started off by meeting with Bill in Colorado Springs and then we rode to Cannon City, and up Hwy 50 to Texas Creek. I remember laughing a lot in Texas Creek cause it was such a great ride through the Arkansas Canyon that Bill and I both had the rubber on our BT010's balling up like on a track day! Yea it was a fast section for sure, not too many days where that happens.

This has got to be one of my favorite rides to do in Colorado, its is probably one of the best in Southern Colorado for sure and everybody who I take on this ride just raves at how great the roads are. I recently purchased a copy of Keyhole, the latest mapping software available on the net that uses a 3d engine and combination of satellite images and aerial photos to make a fantastic three dimensional map of the earth for reference.

This is an overview of the route complete with terrain that helps explain the reason why its such a good ride.

Things I remember about this ride are the fact that it ended up being an 8 hour ride when it was only supposed to be 4 hours. Watching Bill take the turns coming down McKenzie Junction way too hot, and watching him pull it off in amazement - then laughing about nervously it later when we came to Wetmore - yea that Viffer can scrape pegs Bill but its not as Flickable as your old Kaw7r. He has a tendency to do stuff like that - where I would roll off he rolls on! Watching Craig lean over in those turns near Bigelow Divide and Huckleberry Creek from behind reminds me of why I love riding with my buds, nothing like a great ride. I hope you enjoy my nostalgia, yea it is an old ride but its winter and I was bored. Enjoy the video folks

Hey Miquel, very nice, I really miss rides like that. Gonna have to make plans to ride north into Alabama and the Carolinas soon. A local rider told me about some roads about an hour's ride away, decreasing radius reverse camber turns, he says you might want to go easy the first time thru! :lol: thnx again it was a pleasure to view.

Lee, Martin is correct its the Smashing Pumpkins, my little sister gave me a CD for christmas a few years back and I liked it. They seem to have a few songs that seem to go well with motor vids

Anyone with reservations about the Vtec's capabilities need only to see Slammer's videos. Those guys haul ass!

Fantastic job on the video Miquel!

That was one of many great rides with you and Craig. Notice how many cars we passed during the whole run....not many. I also remember the deep snow banks and deer next to the road. Amazing that the roads were so clean with that much snow still around.

Did I spot you at the WP Safeway gas station the other day? I was on my way down the pass and could not stop to say hi.

Nope havent been on the bike other than a few trips to work and back.

I was not sure if it was you. Similar year model, had a Zero G screen, but no camera cutout. The pipe may have been stock as well.

Anyway, great writeup and vid!

thanks for the video - it just gave me a brief respite from the winter insanity that we're in here.

Another great video Miguel. I liked the use of still photography and the moving video. The keyhole maps add a lot too.

Are you still using the RAM mounted video camera to the mirror stem?

WHAT type of tires are you guys on this ride using? The capabilities of the vtec is one thing but as well for the tires. Brand and model. thanks

Like I said in the original post Bt010 bridgestones at the time for Bill and I, Craig was riding Dunlops 220.
