  2. My 4Th Gen Project 28 Apr 2016 17:44 So, a mint 5th gen has popped up for sale and I'm heavily considering parting this project out. It's got all kinds of goodies on it, would anyone be interested in any parts from this project? Professionally rebuilt…

  7. My 4Th Gen Project 28 Jun 2015 02:34 IT'S ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!! [video: https://www.youtube.com/embed/4DmJHTXOC1c?feature=oembed] Words truly cannot describe how happy I am right now....something like this :cheerleader: Edited June 28, 2015 by Scottay951
  8. My 4Th Gen Project 21 Jun 2015 20:11 Question for those who have done naked conversions, where did you stash your front cylinders' spark packs?
  9. My Vfr750 Fl Project With Rc51 Sp2 Front End. 16 May 2015 04:36 Late model Yamaha R6's use 1/6 turn throttle tubes. It'll have to be trimmed down to fit within the throttle housing you're using, but you'll get the same end result as using an official HRC throttle tube.
  10. 4Th Generation With Cbr900Rr Forks Question 7 May 2015 05:37 Have you ridden it yet Scott? I haven't, but I started re-installing the wiring harness a few days ago. School is finishing up this week so I should be able to work on it some more this coming weekend! Thank you…
  11. 4Th Generation With Cbr900Rr Forks Question 6 May 2015 20:57 I'd go with a 929 or 954 front end, that way you'll get the USD forks and a 17 inch rim. I did a complete 929 front end swap and it was about as straight forward as it sounds, no surprises. It does drop the front end…
  12. '97 Muffler Choices? 30 Apr 2015 23:33 slovcan Beck If you can still find a used one, a enutniatS high right would always be a nice choice for a slip on system for a 4th gen...... i've had mine on my 95 since 1996 and it's been like the manufacturer says, a…
  13. My 4Th Gen Project 30 Apr 2015 17:22 True, there's a place 20 minutes away from my house that apparently works wonders on all sorts of automotive upholstery so I'll have to go check him out sometime and see what he could do for me. Haha yeah, I'd be all…
  14. My 4Th Gen Project 30 Apr 2015 04:55 I stared at the subframe for quite some time trying to figure out a way to make it work and nothing seemed reasonable or within any of my hand tool's capabilities. I hadn't thought to sell the sergeant seat, but that's…
  15. My 4Th Gen Project 29 Apr 2015 19:50 School's been kicking my ass this semester, and progress on the bike has come to a stand still. After next week finals will be over and I should be able to reinstall the wiring harness, fill her up with oil and coolant,…
  16. My 4Th Gen Project 26 Feb 2015 01:00 Yeah, I was just excited to use my new torque wrench -_-
  17. My 4Th Gen Project 26 Feb 2015 00:23 Powdercoated parts are in (and on...mostly). My excitement was cut short though. I was definitely under the recommended 9 ftlbs of torque when one of the clutch cover bolts stripped and took out a chunk of the thread…
  18. My 4Th Gen Project 19 Feb 2015 23:40 SoCal97VFR This is looking really nice! I'm looking forward to pics of the tail completed. I've just finished my 600rr front end conversion and starting to think more about a tail swap. I hadnt considered the z1000 so…
  19. My 95 Vfr-Sf Project: The Process 19 Feb 2015 04:38 SoCal97VFR My left side exit exhaust makes finding an exhaust that wont be 100% custom a bit difficult. I mean, if you're not happy with your left exit headers I'd be overjoyed to take them off your hands  …

  21. My 4Th Gen Project 18 Feb 2015 05:43 Got a call from the powdercoater this afternoon, my clutch cover and stator cover are ready for pick up. Can't wait to see how they look!
  22. My 4Th Gen Project 12 Feb 2015 17:41 I'm not going to bother, I pulled the stator cover off and everything looks to be fine underneath. It's gone 62k miles as is so why mess with it? :) I did, I was going to take the headers to a muffler shop and have them…
  23. My 4Th Gen Project 11 Feb 2015 23:56 Also found good spots for the rear spark packs. Ugh, pictures are rotated when I submit via mobile, I'll fix it tonight. [image: post-29645-0-81474400-1423699946.jpg] Edited February 12, 2015 by Scottay951

  26. My 4Th Gen Project 30 Jan 2015 18:07 Dutchy Scottay951 The bolts that came with the washers were only 15mm long, so I opted for a 25mm M6 Allen head instead Sure hope I do not see your gold paint bubbling/peeling....... No, those are just…

  28. My 4Th Gen Project 29 Jan 2015 23:17 johnlondon Good moves! Bet it sounds terrific. So what's next on the build? Right now, I'm pretty sure my throttle cables are binding so it won't spring back closed. Other than that: Finding a good place to hide the…
  29. My 4Th Gen Project 29 Jan 2015 20:35 johnlondon But same size as mentioned by someone else? So if mine are ok on either the VFR or CBR...I can use either of them, I assume?p.s - just checked out the staintune exhaust, made my eyes water at how expensive it…
  30. My 4Th Gen Project 29 Jan 2015 15:09 johnlondon Did you have to change the bearings for the front end as I'm buying a 2005 CBR600RR front end for my VFR. Any issues with radiator clearance etc? I ordered new bearings just because the ones on the bike were…

  34. Front End 26 Jan 2015 18:57 Honestly, the hardest part about doing my front end swap (CBR 929 RR) was making sure I had all of the correct parts, and that was only because I bought it in bits and pieces and not as a complete unit. CBR 929/954 and…
  35. My 4Th Gen Project 25 Jan 2015 20:31 Just ordered a set of the red countersunk washers, should look good compared to my gold clutch plate. Powder coating the cover itself will have to wait until more funding becomes available. I've got another goodie on…

  40. My 4Th Gen Project 14 Jan 2015 22:13 For those wondering what powder was used for my wheels, it was Columbia's sulfur gold with just a hint of flake added for the extra touch of sparkle.
  41. My 4Th Gen Project 13 Jan 2015 06:36 If they did, I don't recall. I'll ask them tomorrow about both the Honda color code and the powder supplier's name and proprietary color code. Edited January 13, 2015 by Scottay951
  42. My 4Th Gen Project 13 Jan 2015 05:50 I can call the powdercoater tomorrow and find out. Shameless plug for the powder coating company: The company, Texas Performance Coatings, out of Texas City, Tx, was an absolute pleasure to work with. They previously…

  47. My 4Th Gen Project 18 Nov 2014 15:59 Got my triple trees back from powdercoat and dropped off the wheels to be coated to the same light bronze of the 1991 model's wheels. Mostly complete front end now!

  50. My 4Th Gen Project 13 Oct 2014 21:13 I've sort of hit a road block and I'm not too sure what to do. After mounting the Z1000 subframe, I've noticed that I have a 3 inch gap between the back of the tank and the beginning of the seat, as seen in the picture.…
