Just bought an 03 VFR on saturday. I live in Norman Oklahoma, and I am a student at OU. So far I love the bike. I was skeptical at first as I have had only inline four sportbikes (and one SV650 that I didn't like) before this one, but the thing runs hard, handles great, and is actually very comfortable to ride. My parents live in Durant Oklahoma which is 135 miles from Norman, and when I used to make the trip on my R1 I would be READY to get off the bike when I got there. But I rode the VFR from there to here on sunday and I could've gone all day on it. Great bike. Oh yeah I'm also a member of the HSTA (Honda Sport Touring Association) and will be going to the annual Talamena ride next weekend.
welcome aboard sooner02r1, Enjoy your new vfr, and your college days. (do college girls still dig guys on bikes?....this coming from a guy who knew 30 yrs ago on a cb750 :goofy: )
Well I have had a couple of deals go my way recently is how I afforded the bike, one of them being the actual deal on the bike; it was really cheap. Yes, college girls dig guys on bikes, I get asked to give rides all the time and I only decline when they exceed the weight limit :). So far the only mods are removing the grab handles, rear pegs (can be put back on for taking girls for a ride in 2 minutes), and I made a fender eliminator that I think is pretty clean looking tonight, and I'll get some pics up soon. Thanks guys for the welcome; I'm a computer nerd so I'll be posting on here a lot.
Welcome aboard Sooner02R1. I would ask for details on that Talimena ride but, unfortunately, this weekend I'll be heading to the other side of the state in hopes of shooting a Longbeard...No guys! Not a Harley rider..a turkey! The kind with feathers. But, if your travels bring you near the Tulsa area, let me know and maybe we can meet for coffee or whatever. Think you're gonna like this site.
