While riding yesterday I noticed (just barely) a click coming from the rear of the bike when it first got moving. When I stopped I checked things out and found that there was some play between the sprocket and the wheel. Does this mean the rubber pieces need replacing? Or is it something more dire?

It's not the job of the rubber cush drive donuts to hold the sprocket true the wheel... it's the job of the single ball bearing located in the cush drive hub... but being that Honda employs one bearing and not two bearings it will move about even when new... so you may find that your bearing is servicable after all...

You DOG - You can be thankful this is a relatively poofter free site or you would be fending off all kinds of indecent proposals between your garage, machine tool ability, and waffles.... Did you measure how much mass you removed from the effective end of the swingarm with your mods. How many garage cleanups and house paintings would it take to have that duplicated ? Hey - I just found this hat !

Although I whittled the behemoth cush down to minimal a star shape item that weighed ounces I had to add about the same amount of weight on the other end to carry the RC45 drive pins and wheel nut... (IMG:http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/uploads/1112757922/gallery_3131_51_170373.jpg)
I just don't know what it would take to duplicate this effort... may be it would be easier and cheaper to just buy an RC45 and I'll modified the seat and bars so it feels comfortable like an VFR...
