Well,...where do I begin? I finally got my 95 back on the road today, rode my 15 mile commute to work. You know the old wisdom about only changing one thing at a time to really evaluate the changes? Ha! Screw that! Here's a quick list of things done over the winter-

-Adjusted valves
-Installed jet kit
-K&N filter
-Synched carbs (still not done)
-Removed all PAIR equipment
-Drilled cam covers (scary) to stop clacking noise
-New front tire
-Tapered head bearings
-Raised forks 6mm in clamps
-Race Tech gold valves in fork
-Race tech .95kg fork springs
-Race Tech built shock
-New grips and doubled my bubble

First impressions are that the suspension is much, much, more controlled. Surprisingly there is little lost in comfort, there are some frost heaves in the middle of a 50mph sweeper on my commute, normally I would hit them with a jolt and the bike would get off line by a foot or two. Not anymore! It seems to soak them up now,...it better after all the money I spent.

I had no desire to install the jet kit but when Dynojet was closing them out for $35.00 I thought what the heck. Power seems unchanged by the seat of the pants, but the delivery is much Smoother and more linear. It used to fall on it's face at about 5,000 RPM,....now it just sails right on through.

Steering feels heavier than before, it's not difficult to lean over but not as quick I expected. I think the new ft tire and heavier fork springs (riding higher in it's stroke) have negated the 6mm front end drop.

I need to log some more miles and set sag,...but so far, so good. I'm just relieved it started and ran!

I was going to include a pic but we do that in the gallery now????

Way to go. I'm jealous of the suspension. I have a couple of questions because I plan on doing something w/ my forks soon.
- Did you do the install of the gold valves? How hard was it?
- Did you install rebound valves as well?
My concern is that if I install 1.0 springs and compression gold valves without the rebound valves my rebound will be way to fast, especially since race tech reccommends 5wt oil. Hmm, wonder if 10wt oil can be used w/ race tech products?

No I didn't do it myself, I had a mechanic friend do it. I simply didn't have the time, HS did a write up on the install if you do a search.

I did both rebound and compression valves, .95kg springs, 5wt oil, #35 shim stack. I'm 205lbs without gear. You can fine tune the ride with different weight oil.

I still need to set sag, but so far, it's a different bike,...plush, yet still takes the big hits without getting out of shape. I use the front brakes much harder and with more confidence now that it doesn't dive. I don't know,....I need to get out and ride some more. :wheel:

Right on, keep the 750's in shape!

It would be great to ride a 4:th gen with gold valves.
The 6mm you have raised the forks can easily be taken out by less sag. The loaded sag being in the area of 20-30mm. Set it now! It's a 10 min job, max.
Interesting with the jet kit. If I knew you were installing them I would have asked you to take pics of the kit along with the original jets and needles.
I wonder what new OEM jets and maybe needles would have done to the ride.

Oops,...too late now. It runs stronger on top now,....a bit more urgency,...the best part is it really cleaned up the midrange though.
