Thanks for the comments. My bike has the stock exhaust with ends cut-off, I got tons of compliments at the track day, everyone seemed to think it sounded good!
Yea I wanted to hear you miss shifting and blowing the apex or somthing or even throttling like a banshe? LOL thats always the funniest part of track day videos trackdays are a blast but they tire you out in a hurry huh! The music made it so I couldnt hear you rapping it up out of the turns, oh well looked like a well executed event, track looked like it could get fast if your into that sort of thing.
That track looks like the same one AustinVFR took some pictures from a few years back, you say its in Texas?? I seem to remember seeing that overhead roof staging area.
Actually that dirt video was pretty cool too, looked like you smacked the bars on a few trees there, and giddy up doggies get out of the way!!
Wow! That makes me really want to do a track day someday. No oncoming traffic, no skinny curves with no shoulders, no guardrails and 100 ft dropoffs...
The guy in front of you never came anywhere near dragging a peg. I'm going to assume he was on a lightweight YamaKawiZukiHonda 600 supersport type bike. Were you having to drag parts on the pavement to keep up with him since the VFR has a significant weight disadvantage?
BTW, it was a classic shot of the guy in front of you, right out of the gate on the first couple of curves, hanging off and not leaning over as much as I do to get out of my driveway! :lol:

--The track is called Texas Motorsports Ranch, and it's located about 30 miles West of Dallas, TX.
--Actually, the guy in front of me for the first couple of turns was an instructor and she was, well, a girl :) She was leaning off on purpose to demonstrate the technique for me.
--I had a lots of problems dragging parts, I touched down my peg feelers several times. I thought about removing them, but I was afraid I would drag my center stand next, which could leverage the bike and cause me to crash.
--I shot the video using a Sony 380 resolution lipstick camera, fed into a Canon ZR40. I compressed the video using Windows Media Encoder.

Yes, I adjusted the rear sag while at the track (glad I remembered the proper tools). It did help a lot, but the peg feelers, center stand, and exhaust header need to be modded/removed before I could keep up with a true sports bike.

Where did you pick up that lipstick cam setup. I've been looking into this as an alternative to mounting a sportbikecam.
Where do you store the camera? Backpack, fannypack, tankbag?
Do you protect the camera with padding?
I found a good bit of info, which points to either helmetcam or jones cam.
I like the 380 extreme kit because of the $$, but I like the 480 extreme plus because of the quick disconnect 12 inches form the camera, but its pricey.
Also the Jonescam looks like it has a quick disconnect, its cheaper, and has a lanc remote. But they don't seem to have the 380.

:thumbsup: Mage1969: Great footage. :lurk: I have a Sony Ditigal 8 camera, an LP tank mount for the Sony, and a "helmet-camera". When I use the helmet camera, not necessarily mounted on my helmet, I feed it into the Sony's input jack. What method do you use to "capture" the helmet-camera's output.
I'm definately signing up for a local track day in June and would love to film it, however, I doubt that I could get away with the Sony in a tank bag.
