yep am actually going on a track 2morrow! put on some pirelli super corsa's and am itching to go! i think i'm actually vibrating! but am going to take things real slow and hang out at the back of the noob group. at least to start! never experienced anything like his before, so yes, pretty stoked right now!

omg. can't put into words the experience of being on a track!! we have a little beat up track but holy crap was it FUN!!! probly the biggest mistake of my life - let's see... now i NEED at track bike, a decent pickup, one piece leathers..............
man i can not wait to do it again!!!
out of the street bikes there was a guy on a 999... what an amazing machine! handful of rc51's and the usual suspects: r6's and cbr's.
i am willing to bet i was the only one out there with heated grips!!! the thought crossed my mind to show up with the saddle bags but...
i gotta say the vfr was able to hold it's own, at least among the slow group;) but the bottom end throttle response sucks eggs. coming out of the hairpins it felt like it was either off or quarter throttle. haven't done my sv's in awhile, and have since added pipes, so i guess i'll be doing that soon.
the pirelli dragon super corsa's are simply amazing. they stick and stick and stick. on some of the real tight corners, she tended to push a little, but i guess that is to be expected on a near 500 lbs machine. rear tire grip was always there, but lots of concrete, so wasn't hammering the throttle coming of most corners.
170kms (110miles?)till the reserve light. ahh, life near redline!
there was a photographer there, and apparently they are selling discs of pics, so i'll post 'em when i get 'em!

Hope ya got some sleep the night before and had a good time. I've got one coming in 7 days at WSIR. Not my first though. We'll see if I can sleep well the night before. It's tough. :beer:
Same thing happened to several of the members I know on the board: KPerham, WERA803, Baileyrock, ME!
Lots of good deals on track bikes out there. watch Ebay, WERA.com, etc. Normally some of the best opportunities are older race bikes. Especially CBRF2/3/4's since they are very reliable, but very fast. An old race bike normally will get you race plastic, a good shock and modded forks. Stay away from highly modified engines as they can be more trouble than work. Much more than a slipon/jetkit/clutch is probably not what you want. F2's from $1500 US and up! It's cheaper than a set

Truck? I have a full size truck I bought new in '98, but I'm tired of paying to put gas in it. If I were to do it over again, I would probably go with something like a subaru wagon and a lightweight aluminum two bike trailer. A friend tows to the track in this manner and get's good mileage, and is more comfortable in the process.
