VFR Discussion Group -> Metric Feeler Gauge Set? 0.03mm-0.38mm

Looking for a good metric feeler gauge set that will go in .01mm increments from 0.03mm-0.38mm. I contacted one tool manufacturer for a price on a custom set, but I wanted to see if anyone here knew of one in existance...

Getting ready for the valve adjustment Chris?I've got mine torn apart in the garage right now.I have not got the slide pin stoppers from Tejas yet ,but I went thru and checked my regular valves and there right on or just a little loose.Right where I want'em.

No prob Chuck.I got home last night from work and never even made it back outside again.Must have a little trip lag left over. :(

Just so you know you dont need metric feelers to do the valves on a VFR! They have the spec in both Inches and MM. Actually the spec tolorance is in +- one thousands of an inch for non vtec and +-.003 for vtec valves.

It actually easiest to measure with English feelers. Metric tolorances are .003 non and .008 mm VTEC - muddy water if you ask me!

Good question. I thought I would get them done before our Colorado trip in July, but I'm at 13K now and I don't know if I'll get to 16K before then. If I do, it'll be close enough that it probably could wait until we get back. I figured you would come down maybe on a Friday evening and stay over (you're MORE than welcome to stay). The less downtime the better since this is my daily commuter.

If your schedule in late July/early August would prevent this, then we can plan for sometime in late June.


By the way guys-I'm waiting for the pics from the AMA race!

i have the same ones plus a great set from snap-on. the snap-ons are read in both english and metric. i choose a blade thats close to the metric equivalent. if you can feel a .0005 difference by hand you are doing much better than me.

Found a better one at RS Components (pn. 449-9640), 25-blade metric, 0.04mm-1.0mm, but still not in the USA. Sure, you can use the Imperial equivalents (and I do than now), but I prefer to use metric tools on my metric bikes...

(This set still does not have the 0.38mm requested, but it does have 0.35mm and 0.40mm, and is as close as I've seen.)

I'm sure I can figure out a weekend I can make it down there. June, July, August is pretty wide open. :D
