After checking out Ronimal's CRG levers I knew I had to get a set. Well, while searching for all of the options I ran across these levers from Pazzo Racing. Pazzo offers them in all black to match my stealthy black VFR.(Attention all Asphalt Owners) They are also available with different color levers and adjustment switches. I ordered the "shorty" version and love them, but they are available in the long version with the break-away notch.
They don't list VFR as an option but the levers you'll need are as follows:
A little expensive for me right now but are going on my list.
What do have on the top of your left fairing (3 clips)?
I agree about the price but I have an illness...had to get them. Those are accessory switches...radar detector, heated whatever, and satellite radio. I only have the radar detector hooked up now. I'm waiting for a rainy weekend to hook up everything else. [image: user posted image] VFR 028.jpg

I spent a day last weekend running a set of four shielded wires from the back to the front of my bike. I then installed a relay between the battery and the brake fluid resevoir to make sure I have full power directly from the battery and still have all power switched off from the ignition so my accessories don't get left on.
I am running heated grips off one of the 16 gauge wires and have 3 left for future installs of a radar detector, GPS? and satillite radio?.
Bought them from my local electronics shop. The name is Contura and are available from several places. This is one: http://www.bluesea.com/product.asp?Product...1=7459&l2=7489# They're larger than I wanted but they were the only ones I could find that were waterproof and vibration proof. They're also ignition proof if I happen to pour gas all over my fairing.
While I agree that those look cool... I can't, for the life of me, ever see paying $200 for a pair of levers...
I keep about four spare sets around all the time... (two sets for the YZF, one each for the VFR and VTR) all like $27 a pair via mail order. In my mind, that's an expendable item like tires, fuel, brake pads... and frame sliders (of which I also have 3 spare sets... I also have a sickness!).

From my research, I'm 99.99% sure that the same combination will work on 5th gen VFR's as well.
I have a friend who has a set of CRG levers on his RC51. I'll talk to him over the weekend about trying the clutch lever on my '01.
Saw a March '05 thread over at a Kawasaki message board that indicates a possibility of a group buy discount from Pazzo:

Nice Bro, the black looks good, it was hard choice for me, black vs red vs gold. I'm planning on my new CBR all black, CRG's, rearsets, paint it black baby ! CRG's are adjustable and it has sure helped with my screwed up thumb and also when I wear different gloves, thickness of glove determines where I position them. It says they are going through a canadian distributor for a group buy at a cost of approximately 150.00 we should find out who that distributor is and try to arrange a group buy here. After all 150 is only 10.00 more than the original price here. I think I could handle that.

Yep, I'm leaning that way early next year after I pay my son's tuition. I don't like the 06 red Darth maul look. Want lots of CF pieces too, front fender with brass wire vents, rear hugger the same, whole damn bike black. Got to have CF wheels and full Ohlins front and rear with some other gold high lights, bolts, chain and a few, I promise just a few, gold decals.
Just got back from 4 hour ride with my CBR pal. He has done 2 tracks now and boy did he give me a work out. I kept target fixing on him as he's hanging off now. What a ride, VFR kept up no problem but heavy. Give me a CBR again and I'll be unbeatable. His track number is 47, year he was born but I told him it must be since he's 1 better than Rossi now ! SOB, I hardly have chicken strips on the front tire now, wife is going to kill me if she looks. VFR got lots of attention again from some Brit guys in Luckenbach..."she's all dolled up" they said. Here's Toms CBR again, yes, those are BST CF wheels and Ohlins front and rear the bastard. I face stiff competition.

Do you know a dealer or someone with a 6th Gen. If you could get together you could verify any differences. From Ron Ayers fiche files I looked up all the lever part numbers and the primary number matches but the rest is different. My guess is they'd work but it's just a moderately educated guess. Email pazzo or CRG to verify their return policy just in case before you order.

Super trick CBR... the right mods and nice paint.
Gotta feel kinda bad tho, start with a 140+ rwhp liter bike... add $3000+ in wheels and $3500 in suspension... and get run down by a 100 rwhp touring bike that weighs 75lb more?? It's all rider!
I used to love to pass 999 Ducati's on the track with my VFR... I don't know why that particular bike was so much fun to strafe? I may have to do another track day on it just for that fun...

OK, it's official... I got the clutch lever from my friend's '03 RC51 on Sunday. The '02-'05 all use the same levers. It is indeed the same lever as the 5th gen VFR, which is the same as the 6th gen VFR. So, the 5th and 6th gen VFRs can both use ronimal and dutchinterceptor's solutions.
04asphalt, which distributor did you contact? Are you interested in spearheading the GB effort ? I count eleven (incl. myself) listers who've said they're interested.
A group buy interests me but if it takes too long to get enough buyers, I'll probably just go ahead and get them from Pazzo.
I have never seen so many guys jump on board for a product. Someone please tell me, what the heck is the benefit of these things?? Surely it's just the bling factor, right?
Now if somebody made brake levers tailored for my freaking small hands that allowed me to do two finger braking and actually get some force into the brakes that way, I'd be quite happy. As it is, my hands are just too small to use two finger braking with any success.

These are adjustable shorty levers so I imagine they could only help you with two finger braking. I would like to get them because they more closely match the levers on my MX bike and they look much better.

#1. They look great!! #2. Less chance of snapping a lever in a fall(Correct me if I'm wrong) #3. Slightly more leverage than stock levers #4. Lighter than stock #5. Adjustable #6. Color match to your bike. #7. Did I mention they look good??
The distance from the leading edge of the bend in the lever to the leading edge of my factory grips in the lowest setting is 2 1/8". The distance in the highest setting is 2 7/8". The clutch lever is just a little tight for me when using just two fingers. I have arthritis which doesn't help. I start out with just two but wind up using three by the end of the day. The front brake gives me more than enough leverage with just two fingers. I also have throttlemeisters and everytime I'd pull my stock clutch lever in all the way it would clack against that bar end which was somewhat annoying. I would gladly have bought the CRG levers if they came in black. They look the same as the Pazzo. Good luck everyone with your GB.

I hesitate to disagree, not having the actual levers in front of me, but all four websites that provide microfiche drawings for OEM parts (Ron Ayers, Service Honda, Bike Bandit, Powersports Pro) show the exact same lever for all three bikes (CBR600F4, 5th gen and 6th gen VFR). Historically, I have found parts fiche pictures to be very accurate.
The CBR and the 6th gen(ABS or not) use the exact same part numbers.
Coupling the above facts with veefer800canuck's assertion that the 3-letter portion of the part number does not change the part, I think it's a pretty sure thing.
Having said that, I intend on seeing if either of the two Oahu Honda dealers have the lever in stock. If so, I will compare it closely with mine and see if they are identical.
If not, I'll order one. Better to spend $25 on the wrong lever than $180 on the wrong set.
