Life expectancy of a VFR750

Greetings! This is my first post here. I am talking with a friend about possibly buying his '93 VFR750. This bike is in incredible condition (both mechanically and cosmetically) and I know it has been maintained very well. It currently has 36K miles on it. My question is, if a VFR750 is well maintained and not abused, what sort of mileage can you expect to get out of them? I know that is a loaded question.

100K+ miles easily as long as it is maintained well... I remember readin something about a courier in Europe that got over 800k miles on his if I am not mistaken. Enjoy the ride! wheel.gif

Thanks guys. I figured the V4 would be a pretty reliable engine. If someone tried to tell me this bike was 13 years old I would never believe it. It has been very well taken care of.

Any weaknesses in the 93's?

Voltage regulators are a problem. Do a search here and you can get the scoop.

Other than that, there is weak suspension and out-dated front brakes. On my '96, I installed an Ohlins in the rear and an F4i front end - along with the brakes. Problem solved and if feels like a late model bike!

Where are the pics of that ? The bike in your gallery still has the stock front end.

Although this has been asked several times before on here, I still refer people to the British magazine "Bike" that featured the long distance courier in the UK that put 440,000 miles on his first engine, 415,000 on the second engine, finally selling the bike with 850,000 miles on it. It was a 1990 model, he then replaced it with a 1991 and put 350,000 on it.
