I had some half inch ID tubes welded on to the bottom of my centerstand to prevent windy tipovers. There are a few pictures in my gallery.

Looks like it would work, but how do you cart the steel rod around with you on the bike???

The steel rod is carried on top of the chain guard. I'm making a carrier to slide the rod into. That was the obvious question for this mod.

Looks like a helluva good idea to me, esp. for here in Nebraska where the wind is nearly always blowing.... How do you think it'ld hold up for a tornado? Kidding but it's sure to help, post some pics of your carrier when you get it all figured out and done. Maybe a write up of what material dia. you used and length of bar and said storage area. Nice idea/mod.

Or, you could put it on the sidestand and position it so the wind won't affect it? Works for me and it gets pretty windy in Palmdale where I work.

I worry about the thunderstorms at the airport - you never know what direction the wind will be blowing. It routinely blows 40-50 out there.

Never had a problem with the wind blowing my bike over while on the centerstand and like ULEWZ said it gets really windy in Palmdale. How fast are these winds that you are dealing with?
