Well my bike is all Black now, but I'm using the tank with the decals in the wrong place for now. Looks pretty good solid black, at some point I will change to Titanium Shorty pipes and clear lenes. For now this is the look!

cpkelly, Apr 22 2006, 08:10 PMLookin SHARP!.......But thanks to your previous post I want to order those Remus titaniums now as well.
Those decals don't look bad neither with the bike all back together.
Enjoy the T-Mac memorial ride...I wish I was going.
Thanks, I agree on the decals. There not Too bad as is ! I didn't think I could count on getting the tank redone right in time for the texasMac Meet so I just slapped this one on for now! unsure.gif
Hoopster, Apr 22 2006, 09:18 PMYou forgot to put the passenger pegs back on. blink.gif What happens if some hottie wants to go for a ride? Otherwise, looks good. wheel.gif

I still have a lap! wink.gif Otherwise I never give rides! tongue.gif
baileyrock, Apr 22 2006, 09:21 PMI still have a lap! wink.gif
And a mustache. tongue.gif
BTW, the pics in front of the wildflower field reminds me of the fields around Centerville/Grinder's Switch on 50. There's lots of them all down in that area.
Here's the field I was thinking about. Too bad my camera couldn't handle the colors correctly. dry.gif

Dang! I was gonna post that t-shirt slogan, "I give free mustache rides", but I didn't think it would be in good taste. huh.gif Now I know how it is though! tongue.gif
I hope that weather starts moving itself further north soon, the trees are just now starting to bud around here.

Baileyrock: Looks great!! Congrats.
Hey, is that a Cortech ballistic nylon bag sitting on the passenger pillion? Is it the one with four (4) bungee-type cords with corresponding hooks for securing it? If it is I would like to offer my humble advice: I believe I HAD the same exact bag. I fitted it to my '05 GSX-R1000. I had a padded laptop sleeve which fit inside the Cortech bag. Nothing wrong with the bag - the problem was me in making sure each bungee cord was TIGHT enough on the four secure points.....I'll try to make this short:
Just before Christmas 2005 I was commuting back home, splitting the lanes in So Cal. The Gixxer began to lose power (strange) so I cracked the throttle open a little bit more. Just then my rear tire LOCKED UP! Mind you I was cruising at 60 mph and the rear tire locks up, skidding. Thank goodness I was in a straight line! Anyhow, I come to a complete stop straddling the carpool and fast lanes on the 210 freeway. After checking my underwear I re-started the bike to get out of the WAY of traffic. The bike fires up but when I put it into 1st and cruise away the bike dies! Anyhow, I finally figure out that the Cortech bag somehow moved off the passenger pillion and got SUCKED between the hugger and the rear tire. My laptop inside the Cortech case was, amazingly enough, unharmed! I yanked the bag out of the jammed area and safely got off the freeway. No harm, no foul.
The story gets even better: After much searching for a hard case to mount on the Gixxer, I finally settle upon a m/c that best fits my commuting/hard case needs. Lo and behold I now have an '05 VFR with a GIVI topcase installed. It works beautifully with no major issues (like the one above) to "disrupt" my commute to and from work. I kept the partially burned/torn up Cortech case as testament about the dangers of stuff getting into the drivetrain of a motorcycle. A few moments checking the bike for loose things goes a long way towards confidence in riding safely.
FWIW: You may want to carefully check the tension on the bungee cord secure straps and maybe while riding reach back every now and again with one hand just to make sure the bag is still there.....Safe riding.
[quote=baileyrock,Apr 22 2006, 09:24 PM] We got in close to 300 miles today, her and her bike today!
Sumpthin' bout a chick on a bike.......
BR, the 98-01 logos on the lower fairing are sweet. fing02.gif I had some done for my red 05' by tapeworks..... In metallic dark charcoal, like the rest. same lines, felt like it needed something down there. Lookin forward to the meet.

Hootie
Thanks hootie, no problems with the bag at all. All four ends connect and get locked in the little storage compartment built into the underside of the Sargent seat, no way for them to come loose/off ! fing02.gif
wildwr, Apr 24 2006, 04:54 AMBlack definately looks sleek. And the pipes add that finishing touch.
I'm curious to how polished wheels might look like on your ride.
nice ride.
Wildwr
Thanks, I used to have Chrome wheels on this bike before it was Black and I'm sure they would look Great on it, but I'm after a slightly stealthy look and even the polished pipes will go Titanium soon to soften the look a little more. tongue.gif
tbzep, May 9 2006, 11:49 AMWas the wing like that on all of Pegram's bikes, or just that one? Love the paint scheme on his bike. BR's black looks good too. fing02.gif
Just the one bike, and I believe the wing was correct on the other side. Notice it has no wheels... goofy.gif Thinking it is the last resort backup bike! Yep, the paint scheme was really fantastic. That's why I kept going by their pits and drooling.

I don't blame you. I'd have done the same thing. Does our longing for the old 80's paint make us old? huh.gif
Looks like BaileyRock isn't the only one with a painter inhaling too many paint fumes! blink.gif Pegram Honda with a backwards wing on the tank.
Sorry about the crappy image. Used disposable camera.
Thanks Kev, I never saw this note with the backwards wing. Actually it's my bros bike that he did the wings backward on, mine are just in the wrong place! dry.gif beer.gif

It's an 04 R1100s, their Sportiest model. It handles really well even two up! fing02.gif
