Hey guys! I made it back to Atlanta yesterday with some well executed mods! Baileyrock is a master at installing aftermarket stuff. It took a little longer to get everything completed because convertibars company did not include the longer lines for brakes and clutch that they were supposed to send, but Bailey made some really creative adjustments and we were able to get the maximum rise and shift aft from the bars anyway. Everything looks fantastic; looks better than a "from the factory" job -- really neat and out of the way. I brought some electrical connections from Summit Racing that were supposed to be "vibration, gas/diesel fuel/salt water/ acid proof and heat shrinkable" that worked like a charm -- $40 for 60 pieces -- they should! Those of you who have 6th gen ABS bikes know that there is very little room to install anything extra.
We installed (Bailey working; me and Joe and Buddy watching!): convertibars, CCircuit (two ignition/one open) dash install, new grips, heated grips with heat troller and switch with LED, throttlemeister, set sag, changed oil/filter/washer, Pazzo levers -- and generally cleaned up some previously poor work by the dealer/factory. Rode home 280 miles -- back/shoulder pain eased a great deal by shorter reach to the bars; toasty grips; almost ran off the road so busy watching the voltmeter -- getting a steady 15.28 at 80 mph.
Really enjoyed Kevin's company and hospitality. Neat garage. Got to meet Kevin's GF -- Shannon (Lovely and Intelligent!), really nice person. Drank some wine and ate some steak. Great way to spend Thanksgiving weekend. I think Kevin is going to post some pictures of the finished stuff.
