New Member New Bike

Hello everyone I have lurked here for awhile learning what I could about the VFR, and today I made it official and replaced my Road King with a shiny new black 2006 Interceptor. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)

Welcome. Congrats on the bike. I'm guessing you will love the high RPM fun of the VFR, but miss the torque of the Road King. Both are great bikes, and I think you will enjoy the new one immensely. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif) I don't know if you will miss the cruiser or not, I haven't been on mine since the day I bought my vfr, these things are sooo smoooth, fast, great handling, great looking, the list goes on... Sounds exactly like me. Seems like smart and/or lucky people latch on to a VFR. Well, actually I'm neither, but what the hell. One does their own thorough research and arrives at the same conclusion. Don't even need a test ride.

Holy crap, somebody was actually daring enough to buy that bike? Don't get me wrong...don't think there's anything wrong with it mechanicially - never seen the bike in person or anything...I just think thats the second most unloved custom painted VFR out there (I believe first had some funky yellow with lepard fur paint/body job with an interesting painting of a genie on the windscreen and those little bullet hole stickers all over it). Been sitting at WOW for a while as far as i know. I seem to recall it going for a pretty reasonable price, for an '03 with low milage at WOW. Quick tip...keep an eye on your battery. When I picked up my VFR from WOW last spring, my battery died a week later. As in dead dead died. Couldn't get it to hold a charge. Called them up and they promptly sent me a new battery - showed up on my door step a day or two later. I can't complain about the customer service there.

I assume your in the GA / ATL area? If so, seems to be quite a few VFR's running around up in that area. You also might want to check out georgiasportbike.com to meet the locals.

I got it for the very reason that it was loud. I am a stand out kind of guy. But I had my bike guru (actually my barber) look at it with me and he said that at the price that they were offering for it for, it was a pretty good value. They also had a pretty red 02 sitting next to it. But the orange one "talked to me" if you can feel what I'm sayin.

They have absolutely no price flexibility whatsoever. They actually had a stock 02 which was more expensive. I am guessing that with that paint job they had to drop the price of mine. But they won't take jack squat off of the price. They know that as used dealers go, they are pretty much the only game in town. I had already done the gauntlet of looking at Cycle Trader and Ebay bikes. I was all set to by my Barber's 1997 Blackbird when I ran across the 03. I am glad too because although I would have saved a lot of money, I have no business being on a Blackbird.

I kind of like it although some members found it a bit well... austentacious shall we say. Nevertheless, beneath the paint job lies a great machine. Congrats and welcome!

Former Harley guy here. '95 Sporty 1200 and I still use the feyfob. (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/goofy.gif) I went backwards several years (twice), and still ended up with a better machine.

Enjoy not spending three hours a week waching your bike (IMG:style_emoticons/oldemoticons/fing02.gif) ...... ohh and where are the pics?

I think it is not too bad looking.............except for the woodgrain. Without that, I would not mind the look.
