Well here's my newest mod. 8 Spoker. Kwr8728 is here staying w/ me for the weekend and we painted it black temporarily til I can get it powdercoated this week. Modding is addicting!

+1 on the black hole... How about a zoomed pic of the bike and 8-spokers?

Very nice.. Are you powdercoating black?
#6
whats a fair price for an 8 spoke?

#7
I don't know a fair price, but I've got an 8 spoke that I may be willing to part with, my problem is it's got a good tire on it, and I think I should take it off before hand because I'm almost positive I won't get what the tire is worth to me.

$250 seems fair, I think they've been going on eBay for closer to $350-$400 though..

Can you run a 180 tire on the rear with the 8 spoke rim?

I thought the 8 spoke was not as wide as the 4 spoke and came from factory with 170 series tire.

Thanks

ki-speed,

Backwards.

8 spoke is 5.5" wide and will take a 180.

The 5 spoke from the 94-97 is 5" wide and should not run a 180.

5 spoke from the 98-07 is 5.5" wide and will run a 180.

BlueDragon,

But it looks so bitchin with a silver wheel. Maybe just strip them both?

Looks great Jason! I'd love to put one on my bike. However parked next to your truck with chrome wheels. . . it's OBVIOUS you need to chrome your bike wheels! goofy.gif

BTW, what are those things on the side of your tank? Paint protectors?

Man that bike looks SAAAWEET! Love that flat black stealth look. I think it looks awsome with the black wheels too. Chrome would look out of place on there anyway.

I was totally kidding. . . . I personally hate chrome. Just playin'! I'm a fan of the flat black scheme but it may be hard to tell from my yellow bike. +1.gif

Ok, for all you guys making the upgrade to the 8 spokers, what have you done with your 4 spokers? I'd like to get the wider rim for my 4th gen. If any of you have one that you'd like to part with, let me know. Thanks!!!
#22
If chrome won't get you home then I need to paint my exhaust and anything shiny black.
#23
That looks fantastic!

I actually traded my 5 spoke + $ for my 8 spoke. So I'm in search for another "Set" of stock wheels for my bike so I can have one set w/ sport touring tires, and another set with sport tires on them.

Those look like the fairing pads from a ST1300 to me...

Looks good
I'm wanting to strip the paint off my wheels and go with shiny fing02.gif

Woops read that question and forgot to respond. Yes they are the ST1300 knee pads. They where pretty expensive, like $45 for the two, but with matte black I can't wax, don't like tank bra's, so this was the best paint protection option I could come up with. I have the belt protector pad also.
