I'm up the the Northeast portion of the country, specifically southern New Hampshire and I'm finding that most dealerships do not stock any 2007 VFR's and some have no plans to get any this year...
The past two days I've been to 3 dealerships. Motorsports International in Auburn, MA. They told me that they did not sell a single VFR last year and have no plans to get one for 2007. This is a moderate sized dealer with 3 major Japanese brands. CBR's, got em... gixxer's, got em.... even FJR's got em... but no anniversary edition VFR ???
Went to Rochester Motorsports in NH. None in stock, but they informed salesman thinks they may be getting one... Went to Deport Honda in Rye, NH. Again, none in stock, but they informed salesman thinks they may be getting one..
As much as I love my 2K VFR, the lack of support from Honda makes it difficult to decide to buy a new model. There is no way I would ever take my bike to a dealer for service since most of these shops have never worked on our engines. (besides the fact they are too expensive). Honda seems to have taken the marketing approach of "Don't ask don't tell" when it comes to advertising and displaying the product. <Off the soap box>
If Honda does read these forums... How's about showing a little love for one!
We have two in stock at our local dealership. But I live in Atlanta GA. Its a bit of a haul for ya. But a plane ticket and fun ride home is no big deal.
I've seen one a couple times on ebay for a decent price.
I walked into the big dealership here in Dallas, and they had the red white and blue beauty in the front of the store, right behind the beauty sitting at the reception desk!
It's almost like another museum piece, like the Mint CBX1000 Turbo they have up there. Everyone will look at it in awe, but walk to the showroom, and there's 100 CBRs lined up. ready to go out the door.

The only new VFR's that I have found around here are:
'05 Red Leftover at SkyCycle in Lunenburg, MA '07 RWB brand new at Nault's in Manchester, NH White Leftover at Green River Honda
BTW, I asked the service dept. at Naults about checking Valves. They said that they have a "VTec Specialist" there.
Keith, aka Hulked Up on here and S-T.net, the webmaster of www.westernmassriding.com has a pretty good page about dealer reccomendations. You should check it out.
Don't go to Motorsports Int. I have heard nothing but bad from them.

Maybe it is more of a geographic issue. Most of the folks who've replied are in south of New England. The shorter riding season (for most) seems to lend itself to the standard array of in-line engines.
I was hoping to see one in person to make a decision if I should move up from my 2K. If I decided I wanted to make the move, I'd shop for the best price and fly in and drive it home.
That said, I still do not see any love from the Honda Mother Ship unless you want a CBR.
Fairly plentiful here on the left coast. Probably a total between twenty to thirty at various dealers in the immediate Southern Cal area. Not a USC fan and the new red one smacks of their colors. Still, it looks really nice. Lots of '06's included in my estimate, which one can get OTD for less than $10k (which includes over 8% sales tax).
I was at Houston's NW Honda dealership a couple of weeks ago and they had 3 on the floor (including the gorgeous 25th anniversary edition), and "more crated in the warehouse" wheel.gif
In Tennessee...but...my local dealer has 1 Red-White-Blue, and was scheduled to have 2 Reds (haven't checked yet) in today...........they also have a FANTASTIC Black 06 with GIVI side cases, Gen Mars, Pilot Powers, BLS lowering blocks, etc.........ask me how I know................ tongue.gif

If they haven't sold well, there is no reason to order them and risk having the bikes sit for 1, 2 or even 3 years unsold on their showroom floor or, even worse, in the warehouse. I can't really fault dealers for not ordering a product they don't think they can sell.
If you're looking for a brand new '07 there are other ways to get one, and probably a shop within a couple hundred miles that will have one in stock. Or you can have your favorite local dealer order one for you.
And we all know that Honda has done little to market the VFR over the last few years. But I would say they've done more just for the Anniv. edition than they have for the VFR for awhile.
Also, if a dealer says they have a VTEC specialist, ask how many VTEC valve inspections/adjustments that mechanic has made. Ask to speak to that mechanic and ask him yourself, just to be sure. Also be sure to ask how far out of adjustment most bikes have been. If the folks here are any indication, it would be few bikes that needed much adjustment. If the guy says all of them were way out I'd be skeptical.

Alamo cycle plex here in San Antonio has one (RWB) and on 35 North Honda they have a RWB and a red one. I haven't been to the stealership in awhile so I am sure that they sold them already.

Reynold's Motorsports in Buxton, Maine has a RWB '07 on the floor. It was the first one I've sen in person and I thought it was beautiful.

Yup, da wife stopped by the local dealership today and they had the maroon 2007 (red) and two RWB. They also had a older used VFR in back that the wife had her eye on im not sure of the year..

Saturday, March 24th Cycle Design in Philipston, MA had the RWB 25th aniv edition on the floor. I have used them for maintenance on my 98 VFR with no complaints.

Didn't say I could afford it, or that I wouldn't like a pimped up asphalt '04 even more, but I do like it. I tried to chat up the sales weasel and have him slip up and spill the beans about how Honda was going to make a huge VFR comeback... no dice. Like some random sales guy is going to know the Honda corporate strategy. Uh huh. comp13.gif

I was kinda unsure about them when they said that. I spoke with him and he said that he had worked on 3 VFR's Valve inspections. I guess that makes him a 'specialist'

Sky Cycle, my local has a leftover, red, '05 with ABS. They are still asking $10,500 for it. It's surrounded by newer inline 4's that are a fraction of the price. Think it'll sell?
For the New England Guys - Best Cycle in Nashua, NH (right down the street from me) has a discounted 2006 White VFR on the floor ready to go.
Unless I had a major case of Lust for the RWB I wouldn't even dream of getting a 2007 if I could find a 2005 or 2006 left over. One of the reasons is the VFR MSRP today is like $1500 more then it was in 2002-2003. That is fairly annoying IMO that Honda has jacked the price that much without really improving it.
Heck there was another thread today where people seemed to think $11k out the door was OK. I bought my 2004 for about $9k out the door with the saddlebags in 2004! Why on earth would you pay anywhere near sticker for a bike that doesn't move?
Somehow I'm guessing if we got to see Honda's data we would find that New England is one of the worst regions for VFR sales. No one seems to buy them, I can see why the dealers don't carry them. If you want one though I would think any Honda dealer would be able to order you one. It shouldn't be that different then the guy who goes into the Honda car dealer and lists an exact specification of exactly which color & model Accord he wants. The dealer probably won't have it on the floor or any plan to put one on the lot, but they'll have no trouble getting it.

I got a RWB at North Reading Motorsports in N. Reading Mass. I put a hold deposit in January for a March delivery. The dealer was expecting 2 in March. According to them, Honda never shipped. North Reading got mine from Cycles 128. Cycles had had 2, and by the way they kept calling me, it doesn't seem like the units where not moving out the door. North Reading did have a White 06 on the floor.
