Not sure who else is a geek around here, but I just saw this posted on digg and thought it might work for someone. Maybe attached to a mirror? I don't have a camera (yet) but it might be a cheap alternative to a mount.

Thanks for the link. I am going on long solo tours on back roads and have been puzzled about a tripod for the bike.

Wonder how it is for vibration?

Maybe add a couple of rubber washers in there to minimize the vibration transfered to the camera

I bet it works well for still shots but not for onboard video - just too much vibration involved.

Each bend weakins the metal. FYI
