I need to know the total height of a sixth gen vfr with and without the windscreen?
I'm looking at different sixth gen bikes in other states and a couple are too far (12+ hours) to ride home for me. Haven't riden much in the last couple of years. I'm considering using my Honda Odyssey mini-van which has a 40" rear door opening and 95" from the drivers seat to the rear of the van. I'm curious if one would fit? I'm ok with removing the windscreen if needed.
And YES, I do plan on removing the two rear rows of seats.

44 inches to top of fairing, instrument panel is just below that.

Thanks for the speedy reply. So you are saying, without the windscreen, the heighest most part of the colored fairing is 44"? Sorry to be retentive, just want to understand.
I may still be able to worm it in if that is the case.
Is the upper part of the fairing difficult to remove? how much height would I take off if i did?

That's to the top of the fairing with the windscreen removed. The fairing bracket and dash top are only about an inch below that. You might get some more clearance if you flatten the front tire and perhaps lower the tree down the forks.
Get a weekend unlimited mileage truck rental. A good ramp(s) and tie downs are about $150.
Or........
for about the same or less money, you could get a trailer hitch installed on the van and rent a uhaul motorcycle trailer for $15/day (the last time I rented one)
Or.......
Get a one way bus ticket and ride it back.

Great suggestions- i guess i should have mentioned that I have a full sized truck with a hitch, but i'm a cheap <you know what> and just trying to save some $$$ in gas. :rolleyes:

You will save $50 on gas and will have to fix or replace the headliner in the minivan - About $500 if I'm not mistaken.
I'm as cheap as they come but sometimes it is cheaper to spend some dough. Hope this makes sense.
Do use a
Canyondancer. It will make securing the bike in the bed of your truck much easier.
You cant get much shorter than removing the windscreen witout removing the ENTIRE front section.. There are metal mounts under the fairing that extend a inch or 2 past the Mirror mounts...
Best possible would be to remove wind screen, flatten front tire, And remove the fork caps (not sure if this will damge the fork valves or not) otherwise get something to slide it on and Remove the front wheel...
Go ahead n spend the extra gas money n make sure the bike arrives unhurt...
