Hey everybody I have an 04 with 65k+ miles on it and the cam chain tensioners are getting pretty loud.
My question is:
Has anybody put a small thin flat shim in the tensioner between part #8 and the shaft that comes out of the tensioner to create more tension on the spring?? Or would this be bad.
I'm guessing that the spring in the tensioner has has lost its service limit and thought that this might be a temp fix.
I just did the a valve adj, and when un-loading the tensioners...there seemed to still be some "good spring" in them.
I have included a link to nielsons partsfische for reference.
