Someone Crunched My Front Fender

My father was over yesterday, we were standing in my garage looking at some stuff I just bought. He looked over at my bike and asked how it was running. It's a Honda, how do you think? Perfect. Then he asked if I had a decal on the front fender, or a scrape. Knowing I have no decals there, I looked and it had been hit hard enough to scrape and crack it. Someone must have backed into it or something in a parking lot. Last time I rode it was Friday going to work and a stop at the hardware store on the way home. I do a pretty good check every time I ride it, so I know it was not there Friday morning. Where I park at work, there is no way someone hit the front, so it had to be at the hardware store Friday on the way home from work. Needless to say, I'm pissed. Could be worse I guess though.

So, anyway - anyone know the best place to buy a fender? I found OEM Honda for $117 online, painted the right color and ready to go. Seems ok I guess, any other ideas though?

Sorry to hear about someone elses ignorance. It may be worth contacting the hardware store to see if they have security cameras in thier parking lot. Maybe they caught it on tape. Good luck.

I can't imagine how you must have felt when you saw the damage to your front fender. A Terrible shock regardless of how you look at it. I'm glad you were able to see past the DAMAGE and know that if the bike had been knocked over.... obviously.... there would be so much more to worry about.

I put a fender on my Honda Nighthawk a few years ago (a woman backed INTO me while at a traffic light) and the price you got seems to be about right so long as it is a color match and ready to go.

There are at least a few good online parts places to choose from so double check the prices AND the shipping.

How badly is it cracked? If the fender is still serviceable, you could always drill a small hole at the top of the crack to prevent further migration, and ride. . .. :fing02:

Thanks for the links too, seems like they are all around $115 give or take. Agreed it's best to go OEM, no paint matching issues and all that stuff. Just unwrap and bolt it on.

It's not cracked bad, certainly ok to ride as is. Just looks like garbage though so I want it fixed. I'll check around to see if I can get the best deal on shipping. Maybe even call the dealer by me and see what it goes for there.
