190 Rear Tire?

Please help!! will a 190/55/17 tire work on 6th gen? I know 180 is stock but found great deal on a 190. Any suggestion would be appreciated.

It can't be that great a deal, unless it's free so you can sell it and get the correct tire. :goofy: And, if the deal is that good, it will come around again on the correct tire.

Using a tire that is too wide winds up pinching the beads of the tire too close together and reduces the contact patch area = less traction and funny handling.

a 190 55 is NOT that horrible of an idea.
a 190 50 IS.

i have a 190 55 and have not had any ill effects. turn in might be a tad slower. but nothing to worry about. how often do you push it that hard?

the profile of a 190 55 is very similar to a 180 55.
and besides were only talking about 5mm wider per side. its not like your trying to mount a 295mm car tire on a 7.5" rim.

heck even the Honda DN01 scooter thingamajig is running a 190 50.

I know a few guys that run 190/55 tires on their 600RRs. The stock tire is a 180/55, just like the 6th Gen.

Hmmm...

Kinda funny back in the late 80's on my VW Gti's a 185/60-14 was considered "wide".... Now its considered pee wee :biggrin:

Yeah used to run a 205/60-13 on an 81 honda accord. :rolleyes:
