Cargo Net Suggestions?

My old Nighthawk 750 had (has, the buyer still hasn't picked it up yet) a backrest that I could strap my gym bag to, but I need to figure out where the gym bag goes on the new VFR. I am thinking that I will buy one of those cargo nets to hold my gym bag (small duffel) to the passenger seat.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to nets that work well, or don't work well on a 6th gen?

Does anyone have a better solution that they use? Backpack won't work because I already carry my laptop in a Swissgear Maxxum bag, and I don't want to spend $$$ on a Givi trunk just to throw my dirty gym socks in.

I want to be very careful, before I spend $7 on this important motorcycle accessory, that I make an informed decision.

You can probably find it elsewhere - it's made by Chase Harper and is nice. I use it to hold down a soft gym bag. No scrapes on paint damage to speak of.

I think I ordered mine from Dennis Kirk .com, it was $6 and is holding up really well. I used it to strap a big duffel to my bike for a two-week trip in '06, stretched to the max it held up!

Harbor Freight had a cammo one for ~$6. I don't see it in thier catalog anymore. It gets the job done.

I have a 6-hook spider net I used to use often on my old Kawasaki. Worked well since it had enough mounting points to use the net. I don't think it will work well on my VFR, but I haven't really tried either. :unsure:

My net also has 6 hooks, I put two under the seat in front of the bag, put two more on the passenger handles, and I used 1 hook per side handle on the duffel. The 5th & 6th hook on the sides helped to keep the bag up off the saddlebags, and kept the bag from shifting side to side.

These look pretty cool. Easy to store under the seat when not in use.

I also use the spider web looking kind...happens to be mostly square, with 6 fat plastic hooks, which can be repositioned on any of the cords to adjust to different mounting spots. I used mine on my trip to TN, as well as many other times...it lives in my tail bag, so the only use it gets it when i need to do things like move CPUs, larger boxes, etc.

I think i bought my Black net at Harbor Freight. It is the second one I have had. I will buy more if I see them again, as they are useful.
