What To Check For When Buying An 02?

Thanks for all the help on my related post about the price of an 02. Now that I'm going to check the bike out I wanted to get some advice for exactly what to look for, especially things to help negotiating the price.

I'll check the obvious, bodywork, paint, no dings, dents etc. The seller says the tires will need changing soon. Its not an ABS model, and no luggage. Completely stock. He scheduled and apt for the wiring harness recall but never ended up going to the dealer.

Anything thats often problematic on the 02 that I should check? Anything I should be watching for on a test ride?

The higher the mileage the more you should check.
Alternator and rear sub frame recalls done?
Is it due for a valve check? Scheduled every 16k miles and can cost $400-$600
Chain wear?
Coolant leaks?
Is VTEC transition abrupt?
Does bike surge while cruising at 5k rpm?
Does cam chain rattle when bike is idling and cold?
Check wiring for burnt or melted connectors, main fuse near battery, blue connector under fairing below left handlebar, alternator to rectifier plug.
Check suspension for proper amount of dampening.
