I have come across some problems while bleeding the brakes on my 02 VFR (not ABS). I have a service manual and could not imagine having the problems encountered so far. On my first few attempts, I used a Might Vac. All went okay wit the exception of the rear center bleed valve. I never could get a nice flow of fluid thru the valve. At best, it would just "spit" some fluid occasionally. I tried opening the valve more, but eventually had to just use the rear brake to get fluid to run out the valve.
The other problem I had was finding the proportion valve mentioned by the manual on the RHS of the bike. I was not able to find any such thing. I did find the proportion valve on the LHS, and performed the steps per the manual, including tilting the front LHS caliper 0-15 degrees.
When it is all said and done, the front brakes are good and solid, but the rear pedal engages lower than it did previously. If I pump it once, it seems to be about like it was before I started this mess.
Maybe someone can help me out with the following questions:
1. The manual indicates there are two proportioning valves, one on the LHS and one on the RHS. I can't find a bleed air valve on the RHS. Is there a Rear Proportioning valve bleed provision on the RHS, just behind the tank and in front of the rear master cylinder as indicated by the service manual?
2. Has anyone else had problems with the center bleed valve on the rear caliper?
I could be wrong but I pretty sure tis on the other side from the master cylinder.

1. Yes there is.
2. Yes, it's a PITA, but you'll get better results pumping the lever than just using a Vacuum Pump and you'll get better results if you have a mate lend you a hand, at least I did.

Mine does not have ABS. I do find the PC on the RHS, however, it does not have a bleed provision. I will double check the manual tonight, but I not recall it indicating that the PC on the RHS is for ABS models only.
I have yet to find the bleeder valve on the Rear Brake Proportioning Control Valve. Again, my bike does not have ABS, if that matters. Can anyone that has a non-ABS bike confirm (or deny) the existance of this beast? Here is what it looks like on my VFR (I pulled the wiring harness over to the right for clarity):
The valve (7) from the microfiche is located on the LHS, by the battery. I found that one. They have a different name for that Proportioning Valve...without my manual I do not recall it. At any rate, you can actually see that valve in my pic...as you look all the way thru from the RHS to the battery area on the LHS. My problem is with the "REAR PROPORTIONING VALVE", on the RHS of the bike (between the tank and the rear fluid reservoir.
I finally got all the air out. Brakes are perfect again. I have concluded that there is not a bleed valve on the Rear PC Valve (which is located on the RHS) for a non-ABS bike. I was looking for something that does not exist on my scooter.
FYI. The issue seemed to be with the Rear Center bleed valve. I used the levers only to pump the fluid this time. I also pumped the secondary master cylinder (front wheel, LHS) a couple of times (while tilted at 15 degrees) by hand. I do not think that did anything except make me feel better about doing something different. The brakes are solid again. Next time, I will not remove all the fluid prior to adding the new juice.
