What Is Your Opinion On These Trades ?

I have the opportunity to trade my 06 Interceptor with ABS and 18K Miles it has a bunch of extra's like a Corbin Seat, ConvertiBars, Two Bros Exhaust....Etc Even up for one of two different bikes a 2007 Suzuki Bandit 1200 without ABS 900 miles with some extras like Two Bros Exhaust and Fender Eliminator.....Or a 2005 Honda ST1300 no ABS pretty much stock with 13K miles. I commute 100 miles per day so that's one of the issues I am facing on my choice. Any input you guys have would be appreciated.

well the ST1300 is a nice bike. But why would you want to trade the VFR? It is just a great commuting bike as a track bike, and you won't be as happy with the other ones.

To answer your questions without any other input - get the ST. A naked like the Bandit will beat you up on the highway. Or, should I say, if you're only commuting, you will want a screen.

That said, just keep the VFR dude. Sounds like a losing deal to me.

I think in 5 years, the VFR will have held the greatest value.

you could scrape together a few thousand and have either of those bikes, but I doubt youd sell me yor VTEC for 3 or 4 grand.

If I had to make a choice, I'd only consider the ST, and then only if I would be doing a ton of long range touring with a lot of slab between points. Even then, I think I'd rather do it on the VFR. I'm considering getting an ST, but as an addition. I'll keep my VFR no matter what. To borrow a slogan, "accept no substitute." ;)

The bandit would not be more comfortable commuting. The ST would be better for that purpose, however, I'd ask for some money in the trade. The ST is a nice bike, but doesn't have the fun factor of your VFR.

Your choice, but I would keep the Viffer.
You can always add BLS's lowering pegs, heated handgrips, or a bigger windshield to your VFR. I'm assuming you have hard saddlebags. If not, that changes things, as they cost over $700 ($1000 from your stealership).

I did forget to mention that I do like the VFR. Kind of dissapointed that a new generation didn't come out in 09..One thing I am concerned about is on my commute I split traffic here in Southern CA it's not like I'm cruising wide open freeways it's very crowded out there and on the VFR it's easy to because it's so nimble and manuverable the ST and the Bandit has me thinking that I maybe taking a step backwards because of the bulk. Value wise I thought the ST1300 would be worth more down the road just based on KBB values today. Anyway I don't want anyone to think I have made a choice yet just looking for some complelling reasons either way.

My initial thought for your distance would be the comfort of the ST and pick up a canyon carver later on it you miss that. (it's okay to mature into a larger ride or at least have access to one)

I was leaning toward the ST until you said, S. Cali lane splitting. Not as easy with an ST. You're brave enough to be on slabs in S.Ca let alone lane splitting.

The beauty of either of the bikes is (unless you're emotionally vested :blush:) , they are both readily available for replacement.

Keep the VFR dude. Now,if someone was wanting to trade you for an R1 or say a Ducatti.....I'd have to consider that.
