Skuuter, When Are You Getting Your 7th Gen?

I saw a reply elsewhere that he was thinning the herd, and the Goldwing gets more use.

Yep...have one bike too many. The Gold Wing gets ridden the most, the Ninja 250 (IMO) is the most fun in the tight twisties, so the VFR gets the Nod for vacating garage space. It gets ridden the least. Great bike, but one too many..... :fing02:

skuuter you just got that second 6th gen a year after ridding the other(noted the first one was well aftermarketed) and at some expense I'd say , what is going on?

I dont know you, but man that even catches the eye of a stranger>G<

Well that short time frame raises my brow also but I can relate. I've owned two examples of the VF500F, CBR600F, VFR750F 4gen, VTEC and VTR1000F but they were years apart. Ironically, the VTEC was the closest in time span so maybe we're starting a trend here. :dry:

ya buy a 6th gen, you dont like it for what ever reason, and sell it. Year later ya buy the same bike and decide ya dont like it.

I think that we all teased Skuuter just a little too much that we ran him off. I thought that he brought alot a character to VFRD. Skuuter let me apologize for everyone here. We are SORRY for what ever we did. Come back and make us laugh at your madness. :goofy:

Regretfully sold the first one for quick cash (don't mess with the IRS, WORD) and three years later, the second one surfaced for sale here on the site, only 100 miles away for $2k with damage :beer: so I'm not quite in scooters league. :goofy:

NOPE....no apologies needed. A very fantastic buncha' members on here. Folks here have always treated me really great, both online and in person. Probably the most supportive group of people I've ran across. Some of the most fun times I've ever spent in 39+ years of motorcycling have been with members from here. I've developed some really close friendships here that still continue now. I enjoy raggin' Folks, and being ragged...I rag myself a lot even, a sense of humor has always served me well.......... :fing02:

It doesn't cost me as much to buy/trade bikes as it does most people. That 39+ years, and living and riding in the same area I was born in has helped me develop a dealer arrangement unlike most have. I trade some of my 1 year old bikes for a brand new one on several occasions. My local dealer(s) makes money off of me in lotsa' other ways. Road Test feed back, customer "right bike for you" recommendations, verbal advertising, gear sales, on and on. The R-W-B VFR was "traded into" with my Triumph Speed Triple, which they sold for more than retail 5 days later because of the "farkles" on it.

I really like the bike (what I rode to the VFRD Kentucky Revival, and marid2apterbilt's BRP Ride), but I do have one bike more than I can keep "rotated" in a "ride-em'-all-some" sequence. I still stand behind my "If I could only own one bike it would be a VFR" statement, but I can and do own more than one. The Gold Wing gets ridden the most because of all-weather comfort, grocery shopping storage ability, etc. (I ride a motorcycle every day except ice or snow on the road). The Ninja 250 is the most flickable, fun, light, and comfy bike I've owned for tight twisties, plus a 65 MPG average.

So, one needs to go. So instead of riding it to death, someone can get an absolutely loaded, low-mileage VFR BARGAIN.... :fing02:

...and Veefer, you know you're WELCOME to ride anything I've got (including the Ruckus) if you get down here sometime.......... :fing02: :beer:

I'm one of those "can only own one bike at a time" guys (for now anyway) so the VFR stays. Those of you who know me know I look at new bikes all the time, mostly for fun. Some people collect stamps, some do arts and crafts, I check out new rides online and in shops often. :laugh:

But like Skuuter has said in the past, for a 'do it all' bike the VFR is hard to beat. That's why I've stuck with my VFR so far, tho I've looked at many other bikes I like, too. But they just aren't versatile or affordable enough for me.

Actually, I think you should get rid of all your other bikes, Skuut, and keep the VFR! ;p Just kidding. I bet Mitzie would rather you kept the 'Wing for 2-up trips. :)

I am in the same situation. My Goldwing does get ridden the most and my wife can doze off back there. That's why we put passenger arm rests on them. It holds them in during corning while they are sleeping!
