I've been searing and haven't found a definite answer yet. I have OEM hardbags already. Can i mount a Givi trunk using the Givi rack or do i have to buy Givi racks for my sidebags as well, as i think the honda ones are different than the ones Givi sells. Just curious. I know i can get Ken's solo rack, but i'd like to be able to still have a passanger with all the bags on, too.

I don't think Givi makes a sidecase that mounts to the stock sidecase mount. Pretty sure you need Givi mounts for Givi cases, and Honda mounts for Honda cases.
Also, I'm not sure if you can install a Givi mounting plate to the stock Honda topcase rack, but I know that you can mount a SW-Motech topcase rack in addition to the stock sidecase mounting hardware, as the stock sidecase hardware mounts "under" the grab bar and the SW-Motech mount "over" the grab bar. If you go with a SW-Motech like I did, you can use a M-5 mount plate to mount a V46 topcase.
By the way, I don't use my SW-Motech mount anymore since I never ride with a passenger and use Ken's solo mount. I might be persuaded to sell it... :biggrin:

:+1: to everything NVR2L8 said. I have the same set-up and know for a fact that the FZ166 won't work with the OEM side bag mounts. It must be a silver '05 thing because myself, NVR2L8, and DougfromIndy all have that same SW-Motech with OEM side bags. I bought mine from Twisted Throttle and they state on their website that it may not be comfortable for a passenger due to the bracket rubbing on the back of their thigh. Do don't ride on the back of my bike so it doesn't hurt me a bit. ;p
