Just curious if that rack works with the OEM bags. It appears it installs atop the grab bars which are now extended due to the side bag brackets. Also guessing the design is such that the seat can be removed without taking the rack off? Anyone have any pictures of the rack installed with OEM bags?

Why not just PM Kanadian Ken and ask him directly?

I asked him about availability, says he has one. I'm asking here about the seat being removable as it pertains to the rack/picture request which I made because when I went 'searching' on here, I found a post by KK asking for photos of his rack mounted (fitted with the OEM top bag), and I figured that meant he had none. Now, within that thread asking for photos of the rack on the bike, none were shown with the rack mounted on a bike with the OEM side bags. So I thought I'd ask here, as KK did, if members would post a photo of the rack mounted with OEM bags, if that was possible.

I hope that clears that up ;)

No worries, I just figured after a year of selling them he would know every possibility by now.

Hmmm..... Apparently the obvious wasn't so 'obvious' to me. This is one of the threads I previsouly viewed on the rack and failed to see the black bike with the OEM bags installed. However, it doesn't showup real well in those photos.

I'm not sure how long KKen's bolts are. You might have to get a set of longer ones to go through the solo rack, the stock grab bars, and the side case mounts. I wish I had just bought KKen's instead of building my own. His would have been cheaper by the time I got mine powder coated, plus I can't remove my seat. Although mine does set lower, which I do like.

The two racks mount independently of each other so there should be no snags. F.Y.I. there were no bolts with the KK rack, but the bolts sent with Givi's "fix it" flat bars that were sent to stabalize their earlier vfr top racks do the trick. They are longer and the included spacers keep the rack off the oem handles.
