I'm sure this question will sound rather trivial, but I won't rest until I know for sure. Anyways for 5th & 6th gens, do both headlights come on for low and high beam, or is one side low and one side high? Thanks guys!

On 6th gen, the bottom 2 are on for low, and the top 2 AND bottom 2 are lit on high. On 5th gens, both lights are lit for low and high, i don't know if the low filiments are still powered oh high though. HTH

On the fifth gen, I seem to recall seeing a mod that Slammer did a while back that kept the low beam filaments lit when the high beams were switched on...so on a stock 5th gen bike, you have either the low filaments on or the high beams on, but not both.

Stock vs. Stock, the 6th gen lights are a bit better than the 5th gen.

I don't know... On my 5th gen I think that the lows stay on when I hit my highs but I may be thinking about my car. I would check but it is too damn cold right now.

On the fifth gen the lows do not stay on with the high beam. You have to modify the wiring for that. It is a great mod. I like this better than an HID setup I used to have.

The sixth gens are insanely bright. I am shocked at how often 6th geners are flashed when only using low beam. At night I can see 6th gen's far far behind me in my mirrors when group riding.

Oh, and just to confirm what others have said, both bulbs turn on whether in lo or high (or both) mode. 6th gen is bottom two, then all four for high beam.
