Longlife Chain Lube

Here it is over 53,000 mile on front sprocket compare the wear, I could have went to next chain, the lube I'm running grately extended the life and limited wear dramatically. The sprocket was subjected to lots of exuberant activity, I've seen more wear on less than 15,000 mile with other lubricants.

the speed coupling was pretty worn so I replaced it too, it looked like I might have to deal with it soon

So are you going to tell us what lube you're swearing by here, or do I need to get lay-away on a Ouija Board so one day I can figure it out on my own?

MOTOREX 622 Strong Street, been running it for near 100,000 mile, best wear reducer I've come across

The rear steel, will go well over 100,000 miles

I run the Reginna ors2's regular oring( i avoid the zrings like the plaque), I replace every 18 to 20,000 mile without making any adjustments in between replacement intervals. Remove the old and drape a new one on, the adjustment is indentical, never have to touch it.

The reason I replace is the signs of internal lube drying out via reddust

You never adjust the chain? 18k miles and you never have to adjust the thing? This seems a little suspect.

Its true , I've installed the last couple Regina chains on the VFR just draping a new one on, no need for adjustment during the interval duration or upon replacement. I know its something I havent seen before till the reginas and moterex, but its very nice.

Now I'm sure I could run these chains in excess of 20,000 mile and begin to see stretch . But normally I'm seeing one or 2 links begin to give off red dust around that 18 to 20,000 mile interval, and even signs of beginning kinking, so I replace.

My last bike, I ran maybe 3 rks with light lubes, all thrashed including cs sprocket by around 10,000 mile, went to regina and motorex, the first adjustment was around 15,000 mile, pretty dramatic difference.

Having to adjust your chain tension more then once in the life of a chain is a sure indication that you keep your chain adjusted too tight.

I've never kept account of chain adjustments because I'm not the anal type and I replace rear tires too often. <shruggs> I also change bikes or gearing/chain sizes too often to get a good base for chain life! :)

I've used the motorex 622 strong lube before (couple of cans still left on the shelf). It is very similar to the coating you find on new bikes from the factory; white and protective. You can also get a refillable mini-can for travel purposes which is very cool.
