Mounting Radar Detector & Gps?

Hey guys, it's time to set the bike up for some spring touring. Where do you guys mount your radar detector and GPS? For my GPS I was thinking of a RAM mount off one of the levers. I'm not sure about the radar detector though. I was looking on Techmount's website and they suggest this:

But I don't have a hollow stem. Or do I? It's under a cover out in the garage. Does that cap come off the center of the triple clamp?

Also, where do most VFR owners wire stuff in at?

Thanks for any info. I'm still getting to know my VFR.

I used the hollow stem to house the electrical connection (Powerlet) and then made my own GPS/Camera mount that bolts where the front of the tank does. Not as purdy as many, but the price was right (free)

Here is mine, its the ram mount universal kit that bolts onto a bar. I have the 3 inch stem. I love it.

I used a ball mount on my front tank bolts, then a short 3" arm (like Ron Mexico's shown in the above post), then a triple ball mount on the 3" arm, then a 6" arm on each of the two balls, one for my GPS mount and one for my radar detector bracket mount. I need the height so they extend above my tank bag. Works great. I run the cables into my tank bag to sockets in there, and a power cable out of my tank bag to a Powerlet socket. I also charge my cell phone out of my tank bag. Neat, tidy, and convenient, with only three cables showing.
