Hi, I've only been riding bikes for a year and don't really understand what the rebound and preload adjustments mean.

Can someone explain, I have a 2009 vtec with abs, so have the adjuster on the right side (but need to understand what it adjusts exactly)

Baileyrock .... Is right on with the Pre-load...... Here are a few sites that cover all of it ... Our bikes only have Pre-load & Dampening (in the rear)....The video shows what you want to accomplish with the rear dampening which is controled with a little screw at the bottom of the rear shock (the front doesn't have one).''''' Warning ''''' DO NOT TURN HARD AGAINST THE SEAT WHEN YOU ARE GOING LOCK-TO-LOCK,WITH THE LITTLE SCREW''''''.......Monk
