Laminar Lip?

I am looking for something to help move the air current up past my chest for my 6th gen vfr. Does anyone have experiance with this product www.laminarlip.com? It looks alright and they have a good write up on the product installed on a 6th gen vfr on their site. I have read alot about different windshields and the fact that some dont fit properly and most all are thinner than stock. I personally like the look of the stock sheild just not the blast in the chest while riding across North Carolina to the mountins.

I've used both, the clear is the best IMO, other wise its like looking over a dash board. the standard lip is usable, in clean air you get great shielding, around vehicles more instense buffeting at shoulder leve.. The Touring Lip, going a gainst headwinds, will google your eyes so much it will make you sick, avoid the taller one IMO.

On a side note, both of these add additional pressure to you present shiled, I've been looking at stess cracks for thousands of miles, via running lips. and I only ran them for about 1000 miles.

Hey I'm runnign the laminarlip on my 02 vtec using the db screen as well .. I love it No real buffeting for me works like it says even with the db as for cracks I used the supplied hook and loop fasteners although I had to double the front ones up :biggrin: I'm between 5'8 and 5'9 but it works great for me

One other thing , raising from your chest, puts that air at ear level, increasing Noise level , even with plugs, its alot of noise. It needs to be tall enough to send air over the head.

I the end I found stock shield and a taller seating position corrected so many things ,like noise, leg comfort ect and raising stock clipons.

But try the standard lip, its a money back guarntee , which was useful in my case

I had also seen a windscreen on the web (cant remember the name of it now) that had an adjustible lip/wing on the top edge. It was priced around $130, but I only book marked it on my desktop computer and its not in Iraq with me. So, its a little hard to look it up again. Does anyone know what windscreen I am talking about and weather its worth the money or not. I am looking for parts so I have a pile of things to put on my bike when I get home.


I found it on twistedthrottle.com http://www.twistedth...ctview/1232/91/ not sure if the link will work or not. Its called the MRA VarioTouringScreen. Looks very simmilar to stock which is something I like. Would like any info if someone has used one.

Ive been using the Vario Touring screen since last spring. I do like it overall, because i like adjustability. The main thing i did notice is it kept noticably more air off my neck when adjusted up, which makes a difference when the air gets a bit chilly. The downside was that i swore that i had more helmet/windnoise with it adjusted up as well. If i would lift myself up a few inches, the air smooths out and the noise is a bit less....but then im back to having wind hitting me in the neck again. It's a tradeoff in a way. You should know, im about 6'1"....which i think matters when talking about windscreens.

What im currentlly experimenting with is maybe going back to the Honda Touring Screen that i had previously, to see if i can tell a reduction in wind noise now that i know the MRA pretty well. I still have my old Honda touring screen. In the quest for finding the quietest yet effective setup, i may even take the MRA adjustable spoiler off and put it on the Honda Touring screen, just to see how it is.

I havent checked currently, but it used to be the Honda screen was only available in Europe/UK. This may have changed.
