I hope there is a visual arts/photoshop person that can help me out. For my TomTom I figure out how to change my image....but the only motorcycle they have is this:
the red of course is not visible on the screen. I think it would be sweeeeet to have a picture of a 6th gen cockpit area, as if sitting on the bike, or just the rear view of a stock exhaust(as that is what I have) 6th gen to use. Image size is 80px by 80px.
Im no computer expert but I would start with telling us what kind of image is it? and how large is it?
Once you get that is I think it would be simple to make.

I think Miguel was saying that if the red isn't the exact right shade, you may have to go edit it to make sure it, is, otherwise it won't be completely transparent on the TomTom screen.
BTW - I too have a TomTom 3rd Edition. We 'bought' it using loyalty points.

For some bitmap images the first color in the pallet (or maybe the last) is rendered invisible, I have no idea how the tom tom renders invisible images or if the pallet is the correct 8bit, 256 colors? I have no idea I made it as simple as I could so you could use a program to change the pallet around to what you need. Perhaps if I had a tom tom image that works correctly I could analyze the pallet and make the changes.
If you want to make your own it is a simple process
Locate a suitable image or take a photo of your own car. The best cursors are those that are viewed from the rear but slightly above the car rather than from directly behind.
The image size should be re-sized to 80 x 80 pixels.
TomTom automatically sets any part of the image that is red (RGB 255,000,000) to transparent
For optimum results a continuous 1 pixel white border should be added around the cursor.
I don't have whatever it takes for image editing...I have to draw the line somewhere and Surgery and Visual stuff is where that line is....painting is very close and I am only marginally tempted to try my hand there.
Maybe I will get ambitious and try a cockpit shot, but I wouldn't hold my breath for that.
I just pulled my new Nuvi 750 out of it's box about 20 minutes ago, I am going to do some setup and then see if I can put your image to use in this thing!!
Of course, it's not intended to be used on a bike, so there isn't even a generic Harley bagger image, although Garmin does have others available for download. I need to go check those out!
