Picking Up New Vfr Wednesday

The Sprint is still dead but the deals going around on 2007 VFRs at the moment are just too good to pass up. Yes it is the red one with ABS it's also new from the dealer. Should be picking it up tomorrow after work. Can't wait to ride my new girl. It will be nice to have a bike that runs.

Great to see another convert, the Sprint is a great bike, I loved mine BUT Triumph didn't smooth out the edges and thus the VFR trumps the trumpet where it counts.

Let us know how you get on and give yourself some time to get used to her :fing02:

Congrats--soon to be LiveVFR! I wish I had waited until I could find one with ABS.

Thanks guys. The more I read about the bike the more excited I get. Not sure if I will be able to sleep tonight and don't know how I will make it through work tomorrow. Looking forward to lots of good times to come.

Congrats on the new bike! Don't forget though tha thte VTEC needs some miles to smooth out, so don't be surprised if it is a bit harsh at first.

Huh - that reminds me. I saw one here in Noo Zilund advertised near where I live. From memory, it was a 2007, with about 6k miles on it.
The owner made this proud declaration, "Never been over 6000 rpm." :ohmy:

The Candy Red 07 is one of the nicest color VFR's out there and I'm sure you'll love her. Out of curiousity what made you select the VFR other than the good deal you got?

I had already decided to buy the VFR before I found the good deal on it. I just didn't plan to buy it so soon.

I was looking for a riding position similar to that of the Triumph Sprint. I have done two 14 hour days on the Sprint with no problem. Based on what I have read and sitting n the VFR there seating positions are very much alike. I also love the sport touring concept.

My salesperson told me there was no question that this was absolutely the fastest color, red or otherwise, and I know he would not have misinformed me. :blink:

If you really want to give your Arse a special treat go ahead and order a Sargent seat. Buying the aftermarket seat was one of the best decisions I have made.

Ditto on what Rollin said. Sargent seat is way cool. Bought one as well and my butt loves it, along with the rest of me too. The stock seat was for me like sitting on a 3/4" piece of plywood. Of course I am officially an old guy. Not as old as Monk, but still an old guy. :laugh:

Congrats on the new bike........I think you will love it! Give youself time to get used to her and break her in a bit. With mine the engine and shifting became more smooth as I racked up the miles.

My only complaint was the stock seat.......it hurt my butt after about 100 miles. Bought a Sargent and now can ride all day in comfort.

I forgot to take pictures yesterday. Was having too much fun riding. Seat doesn't seem too bad but I will look into the Sargeants seat. Great bike, seems much lighter than the Sprint. Is a little down on power compared to the Sprint but I only have about 150 miles on her yet and don't want to bounce off the rev limiter although I did do the ton once or twice yesterday. I believe this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship. Will try and remember to take pictures this weekend but will be spending most of the weekend at Barber Motorsports Park for the AMA races. Volunteer in the museum on Saturday and watch the races on Sunday.

Come on dood, you knows the rules. It's not real until we see it. :beer:

Congrats on your new VFR! :) And I know what you mean about 'forgetting' to get pix. I did a great SE Ohio ride with a couple other VFRD members on Sunday. I packed my camera in my tailbag but never got it out. Was having too much fun I guess. :laugh:

That candy red metallic is very sharp. I love my Italian Red '04, but I think all the stock colors are nice.

The Sargent was my first mod to my VFR. The stock seat was OK but the Sargent was a definite upgrade!

Okay, I just priced the seat. I will have to wait a bit before I pick that up but am already putting a few inexpensive things on it. Carbon Fiber tank protector running up the tank to protect her from my belt buckle and ordered the tankslapper for the sides.

Will be installing the hard bags soon. Bought them when purchasing the bike.

Congrats on the bike. I would say no farkles for 90 days....you may change things before you even know they aren't good enough!

I just bought a Sargant seat (second hand however) for mine after 14K miles put in. Stock seat was ok for me, I have done 600-900 mile days multiple times. Of course I am short, so I am not sure how much of the seat I get to take advantage of...it feels like I am humping the tank sometimes.

My favorite mod is my Throttle lock (vista), and throttle rocker (not sure the brand, rubber in construction and wraps around and locks onto itself). Volt Meter is a for sure addition...love that as well.

GPS and Heated grips came as needed, as did the Trunk for the back (over the rear seat, not hanging way off the rear). Sliders came 2 weeks too late :( but were a nice addition. Lighted GSXR mirrors are nice, and offered more visibility for sure!

+1! a 90 day moratorium on farkles is a great idea! And I also agree that a $20 throttle lock and $20 heated hand grips are probably my favorite mods, and you can have both of them for about 10% of the price of the Sargent seat! (but not until after 90 days? lol) :blink:

I already have two throttle rockers. Liked mine so much bought an extra one for my wife. Still no pix and looks like none for a few days yet. It rained all weekend and I spent the weekend at the AMA races. I also had my daughter with me so we were in a cage.

The important thing will be to get another 400 miles on her real quick so I can get the 600 mile service done before my trip to Vermont on the 20th. Rain in the forecast all week except tomorrow. Work is also in the forecast all week. Tough to take extra days right now when I will be off for two weeks in another two weeks.
