Well I am now on my 3rd VFR had a 87 700 then a super clean 94 I bought last year with 14k on it. Loved the 94 fit me perfect but I wanted fuel injection for those cold winter days & "won" this super clean 02 on ebay with 16k on her.
I know the prior owner was on this board but I do not know his user name.
Anyway here is the Skinny 16k (16k service not done) heli bars (going back to stock thanks to a member here) heated grips (love them) new rear tire & chain&sprockets & the obvious hard bags with top mount but no top case.
Anyway real happy so far has a little more punch then the 94 not as soft as the 94 but feels heavier but I think that may be the Heli's so after I go back to stock I think I will be more at home.
I do miss the gear whine of the old motor. The VTEC is still a novilty & fun but I can see how it could upset the bike in a turn.

my 94

I love my 03, it has Heli Bars on it .I keep waffling about wanting stock or not. I go ride sometimes and think stock would be better....Then I go out and think MAN this thing is comfy with the Heli bars!! My buddy has a 636 and he is always one handing, leaning up due to being raked over on the sport bike.

The VTEC is no big deal it won't upset the bike mid corner. It helps to have a smooth throttle hand and not just hammer the throttle open mid corner. You will notice it more on colder days its like getting "extra extra" power :goofy:

Over all i love mine. I dig the VTEC. The bike has enough torque under 7k that if you shift before VTEC you can still go pretty swiftly. Just means shifting more.

A VFR is just plain the best all around bike I think you can buy... Not to mention VFRD is one of the best forums I have ever been on including all the BMW car forums I visit.

The BMW M3 forum I used to go to was pretty darn good.
Now that I moved to a M5 (2001 I will not pay 100g's for a car) the forums are not very good, not a lot of DIYers with the M5

That's a nice specimen you have there, enjoy your new ride

Great bike but I see speed is not important to you since you bought the slowest color. ;p Glad to see you brought the girl back home. Ride safe, JD

Very nice! You will get used to the VTEC. Enjoy and be safe with ATGATT! Congrats!

RED is the fastest color, that's for sure. I don't want to strike up a war of fastest colors (RED), so I'll let it be. Your '02 looks clean- nice find!

As for 4th vs. 6th, you'll get to experience the difference in traits between the two. It would be cool if you could chime in after a few months to see what you like (and dislike) between the 4th and 6th generation.
