I am now looking at an 03 that is just about at 12,000 miles and I am wondering what the service intervals are on the VFRs ? If I am right there is a 12,000 service coming due real coon and I want to know what it involves and how much $$$ I will be looking at for it so I can price the bike accordingly.

at 12,000 mile , arfilter is about the only thing, and maybe oil change
if i told what all i did as far as long term prepping when my bike was off the floor, it would scare you away. G<
Oil Change and an air filter are about due.....if the current owner has not already done them recently.
Owners guide recommends inspection of the valve adjustment at 16,000 miles. This requires some mechanical skill to do yourself, and requires a few extra steps due to the V-TEC valve system. Most put this off a bit as almost eveyone who checks them at 16,000 finds them to be within the required tolerance.
VFR's don't require a lot of maintenance.
Check with the owner to see if they had the wire harness recall taken care of. If not, Honda will do it free of charge.

Yeah I recently walked from a deal on a VFR that was overdue for the valve adjustment as the local dealer quoted $600-$700 for the job and the price of the bike was too high to allow for it.
I am looking at a Seattle bike now and just emailed to see if that wire harness recall is completed. I need a recall release letter for the bike to import it so its crucial.
