Getting ready to pull the trigger on the following mods ... but confused as to which PC to purchase. The PC website wasn't helpful ... or I didn't click the right thing.
I'm blowing all my cash on the PC so I can't do exhaust yet.
Eliminate the O2 Sensor
Remove the Snorkel
Pair and Flapper Mod
Remove two or the four baffles from the stock muffler ... maybe all four later after I hear what removing two sounds like
Going to use a local authorized PC shop for a custom map.
Can someone tell me which PC I should purchase ... PC III USB or PC V w/Auto Tune?
And are there any other "budget" mods I'm missing?
The PCv with auto tune doesn't seem to be built for anything older than a 2009 model yet, don't even think it's avaiable for my 07 GSXR track bike. :blink:
PCIII is the current standard for our VFR's. :cool:
Does he need a shop to install the map? From what i hear it isn't that hard, and there are some good ones people have posted. Cozye and RonimalVFR both have ones I have heard about.
All you need is a Windows based laptop to feed in the custom map via the USB connection (or PC if you don't mind parking your bike in the computer room for a bit). :goofy:

Actually the PCIII usb has a hookup for a 9 volt battery so you can bring the PCIII to your PC, if you need to.

A 2006+ PCIII can be used with 2002-2005 model VFR's, the hardware is all the same, you just have to change the map because of the different VTEC transition point (6400 RPM vs 6800 RPM), so wouldn't a PCV be usable on a 2002 model?

That's subjective. Do you gain hp? No. But you can smooth out the throttle response through the rpms. I don't have one simply because there is a loss in gas mileage and my VFR doesn't surge enough in any rpm to be bothered by it. If you plan on running catless headers + exhaust it's a good idea to get the PCIII so you don't lean out the a/f ratio. It's all about where you want to go with your mods. :)
