Finally put the top box on my bike, the wife is almost happy!!! She gets a ton of buffetting what do you feel is the best windcreen option.

With that said, I have had 3 different screens on my bike before I settled on my new Fabbri Double-Bubble (DB). I originally had a Secdem DB that I loved but alas it got destroyed in my get-off in '07. The fit of the Secdem was perfect and was a well constructed (i.e. thick/stout plastic) screen but did give me a little buffeting at freeway speeds.
When I rebuilt the bike last year I purchased a Puig. The fit of the Puig at the upper corners was terrible; it had some molded ridges that tended to push the bodywork out at the uppermost mounting points. Other than the poor fit the style of the Puig was nearly identical to the Secdem and also had some minor buffeting issues at freeway speeds.
I mounted my new Fabbri last week and had a chance to do about 200 miles with it yesterday. It is the best screen out all of the ones I've tried. I didn't feel any buffeting the whole ride. I can't speak to windnoise as I ride with custom ear plugs. I really coudn't be happier with this new setup. The construction of it is very stout (plastic is 3mm thick) and it's more optically corrrect. It did take a very minor amount of fitting though. I will attempt to post up a review this week with information on how to get it fitted properly.

To find out what screen you need, you need to know what the problem is, is the air hitting too high or too low?
And, to be honest, the passenger gets buffeting from your body and helmet a lot more than the windscreen. Changing this out won't affect her too much, you changing your riding position (or even your helmet) might.
Remember, the VFR is more sport than touring when it comes to 2-up riding. Do not expect the same 2-up riding as an ST1300, FJR1300, Concours 1400, or even a Goldwing.
I think it's to low, I get some under the helmet. The main concern is for the wife though, her head shakes like a bobble doll anytime she's not right behind me. B.T.W. I'm 6'4" and she's 5"4" and it wasn't a factor till I put the top box on and she now leans back on it. Thanks, Kevin

Also, that link for another windscreen appears to be really low, so it would just make things worse.
Hmmm..... Well, I've got to make this work. I've got a 06' with only 4300 miles cause I work about 60hrs/week and understandably the wife demands my time when I'm off. The only way I can ride is to take her. If she turns her head at all it just blasts her, I understand the wind around me concept and thought a higher screen would be the answer. Thanks, Kevin
The link that I provided takes you to the Indy Superbikes website page for the Fabbri Double-Bubble windscreen for the 6th Gen VFR. The picture associated with the item page is just some random Fabbri windscreen for a CBR/GSXR/FZ and not the one for the VFR. I can assure you that the Double-Bubble that I ordered (from that page), received, mounted, and rode with yesterday is: A) Higher than stock, & B) Not the windscreen pictured.
If you are looking for a windscreen that totally blocks the wind for the rider and passenger you should look at an MRA Vario Touring Screen (expensive) or the Givi Touring Screen. Even with either of these screens there's no guarantee that they will solve all of your airflow problems.
As I mentioned in my previous post I had the bike out for a 200 mile ride yesterday at a very spirited clip. I noticed that with this screen the buffeting was virtually non-existant. I got a little bit of a bobble when trucks and RVs passed from the other direction on a two-lane but I thinks it's asking a little too much not to expect that. I don't know if it will help the passenger/pillion or not as my wife rides her own bike so I don't ride two-up very often anymore. I will say that one of the reasons that she got her own sportbike is because she hated riding on the back of the VFR. She said that because the passenger/pillion position is significantly higher she felt like she was always exposed to the wind (buffeting).
I promise to have a photo or two posted by the end of the day today.

I would assume that it's because you've taken your head out of the turbulence zone and gotten it more into the direct airstream. It makes sense to those that have tried it. "Sebspeed" on this forum would be the one to ask about it. If you are 6'4" and your wife is 5'4" she's probably directly in the turbulence zone created by your body and head. FYI, I'm 6'1".

Thanks for your time! I think the Fabbri will be a good option just by your experience. I noticed the bike pictured wasn't a VFR and figured it must be higher, glad to hear it is. My wife is almost the exact same height as me when on the seat so I feel getting the wind around me will do the same for her. I read all about the lower screens on here and can see the logic, but my X-11 is loud enough with out a full blast to it. I could imagine it would get much louder. Who the hell knows, the Fabbri is the cheapest and has a great write up from you so I think I'll go that way. B.T.W. I saw somewhere on here the dark tint causes problems with the lcd in bright light???? I have a black bike and thought it would be a better option for looks. What do you think. Thanks for your time.
