What is the highest inch do Heli Bars come in? I want a set but I heard that the height of Heli Bars range from 1 1/2 inches to 4 inches in height. Could someone please elaborate on this. I want to make sure that I purchase a set with a height that is good for a little sport touring.

I think what you are hearing is two different measurements of the same bars. The Helis are an inch and a half higher than stock, which is the same as about 4 inches from the upper triple clamp.

The new design Helibars are a little taller and further back than the last design. Check with Helibars for details

If you want adjustability and don't mind spending more money, check on Convertibars(?).

Baileyrock,

Thanks for the suggestion, I looked up the Convertibars and their website. This will give me an option beyond the Heli
bars. Do you have Convertibars on your bike? If so, do you like them?

Just remember that if you go too high, then you will have problems with cables etc, and even the bars touching the fairing

I have Convertibars on my 04 VFR. I bought the longer cables when I got them and they work as advertised...no complaints at all.

I currently have Heli's and they work find, I would love some convetibars, but can't justify spending the money when i already have heli's.

My used 2002 came with Convertibars, Staintune exhaust, Sargent seat, and a powercommander.
Trying to monkey with the bars, the clutch hydraulic reservoir always bangs into the fairing when I turn it that far over... Is it a matter of just tweaking the angle of the bars? I'd love another inch higher. Funny how the brake reservoir side can swing all the way to the left with no interference when that bar is set to the same height as the left bar.
