Is there any difference between an 03 and 07 exhaust? I keep thinking I heard something about there being a difference in the heat shields between the earlier and later model 6th Gens. I've found an exhaust from an 03 that I want to gut and put on my 07 but the owner says the right heat shield has some dings in it. Can I just swap the heat shields from my 07???

Yes, you can use that exhaust. The only difference between the heat sheilds is the finish.

Thanks Seb!! What exactly is different about the finish? Is the newer one shiny and the other a dull finish??

It's the other way around. The older ones have a chrome-like finish while the newer ones have a brushed aluminum look. Ditto for the heat shield on the mid-pipe.

The newer exhausts on the 07 also have an additional layer to the heat shield as you can see here. It's just another piece of sheet metal spaced about 1/8" off the cans and welded in place.
