I want to know if the Pro Grip 699 is better than the other Pro Grip products? I have heard that the Pro Grip 699 is the most widely used grip by VFR riders. If so, what really is the differnce? or is there some other brand out there that's better for my old hands? I want to know because I'm about to have a set of heli bars installed and want the best grips on them for comfort.

I use the ProGrip 719 on my 4th gen. It has a nice feel, durable, and not terribly squishy. I also have a set of Helibars on my 6th gen- you will find the quality of the product to be superb! :fing02:
I've used their plain diamond pattern (don't remember the model number) for many years now and have really liked them a lot. Good thing about it too is if the grip does get twisted slightly, it does not change it's feel on the hand because the pattern is the same all around the grip, unlike ther grip patterns that seem to have a definite enough difference that they might feel funny if they get twisted up as you use them.

Not trying to hijack this post, but I'm also in the search for some grips. Are the pro grips bigger in diameter? My hands are larger than most and I tend to over grip the small stock grips. Thx

Some models do seem to be just slightly thicker, because of the pattern designed on them, with the plainest patterns, like the plain diamond pattern ones I have, being thinner/smaller diameters, but I don't think it's enough to notice for most people. The thicker ones might provide better vibration isolation too.

In that case do any of you guys know of any thicker grips? I just need alittle more meat on my handle bars. I've looked at the grip puppies I'm just not sure about them. Thx again

I LOOOVVEE Spider grips. I started using them on my dual sports and now I use them on everything. They are so comfrotable, reasonably priced and last pretty long for a softer grip.

I've used Progrips on my last few bikes. I usually use the 699s, but when I went to purchase some for my VFR they didn't have any so I got the 713s instead. I hated them. I could feel the pattern through my gloves and my hands hurt after a day of riding. The next time I went I still couldn't find any 699s, but they had 719s, so I decided to try them. They've been great. They seem to have a very slightly larger diameter than the 713s, but that could be due to the difference in the pattern.
