She Would Not Start

Can anyone give me and idea of what may have gone wrong. Last Friday I was out for about 1 hour (country and city driving). The engine temperature ranged between about 94C and 110C. When I got home I shut her off for about 1 minute to open the garage door. The radiator fan was running. I went to start her again and I got nothing. The lights just kept dimming whenever I pushed the starter. There was no starter motor sound, not even a clicking. I tried for about 5 minutes until the lights pretty well went out. I poked around some cables near the battery and let her sit for about 15 minutes, tried it again and she started with no problem.

Its a 2002 and I got the new wiring harness recall done and the battery is good, only one year old.

Later I went out again for another hour trying to repeat the problem but it started and ran just fine. What is going on here? Can anyone give me any ideas.

Sounds like a battery.

Sounds like a loose connection somewhere... But don't take my word for it.

I've had a similiar issue after washing my bike. If I flip the orange kill switch a couple of times, it fires right up. Assuming the contacts get wet. Just a thought....

Do you turn it off using the Kill switch or the key? Maybe the kill switch has a bad spot, as was mentioned. When you press the starter, do the lights go out? If you can get it to repeat, check the battery voltage when the starter switch is pressed...if it remains the same as unpressed you know the battery is fine, and something else is to blame.
