Anyone seen this stupid clip? http://www.youtube.c...h?v=iVkIppp90Uo What a bunch of crap! Do these guys not get that they are comparing two totally different types of bikes? I respect the Busa's capabilities and all, but the only bike that is directly comparable is the ZX-14 or maybe an MV Augusta 312R.
This video is like comparing a Lamborghini Murcielago to a BMW M3. We know who is going to win, but which one is more fun to drive on a daily basis?

Yes, there is a very long and exhausting thread on this vid already.

Sorry, guess I missed it....This showed up when I was listening to exhaust sound clips.

Interestingly. the guy I acquired my current VFR from also had an '07 'busa. He now says he's off that bike and wants to sell it after dropping it a couple of times. Something about user unfriendliness, and not being able to handle the additional weight and power for use as a commuter after the viffer. He's since picked up a 2009 BMW F800 GS for commuting and dual-sport use, and loves it. I'm guessing he's just a 3/4 liter guy. Just reporting...

Obviously all sport bikes are not created equal.
Let's try a roll on with a 250 Ninja vs a VFR while we're at it.
Now lets' run all 3 thru the super tight twisties.
That is where the 250 smokes 'em.

Assuming equal riders of course. Not that all riders are created equal by any means.

I met the guy who parks the FJR next to my bike at work. He used to ride a Busa....or as he says...he used to "aim a Busa"

Great bikes, I won't be getting one.

I feel what you're saying, but come on, the Lambo would get old after a couple hours, I mean days, I mean - nevermind. What was my point again?

If you turn the audio on, and listen, you'll hear that they are INTENTIONALLY pairing two bikes that to an OUTSIDER (or someone who DOESN'T know anything about bikes) might think are equally fast.

If a 10 year old boy, and his 37 year old mom see both sitting beside each other from across a parking lot, chances are they won't know the Busa has an extra 500cc's and a 94hp advantage.

Unfortunately the clip is so short they don't really do any more talking, but that is the entire, and only point they make in the clip. They both LOOK fast. That is all.

Yeah I get it, it's just stupid. They are focusing on one aspect of the bikes, comparing a fast bike with a crazy fast bike and showing who wins. The explanation would have been fine, why race them? The thing that annoys me is most people will get out of this that the VFR is some kind of poser bike.

Only to those who don't know anything about bikes or what the VFR was meant for.

I had the opportunity to go up against a Busa on my way back from the Nelson VFRD rally last year. The guy was all decked out in full race leathers and he was following behind some slower cage traffic, I came up on them and passed them all, a little later he comes screaming by and we start riding together, more or less. I was leading at one point and passed some cars and had some open road and let it rip and sure enough he tore on by me but then the road got twisty, no traffic and I caught him up pretty quickly and passed him on a curve and kept pouring it on and eventually he faded from my mirrors. Way down the road he caught me while I was sitting at a traffic light and looked me and my bike over, and he smiled and said NICE! We bumped fists and took off in different directions.

I wouldn't trade my VFR for a Busa, no way.
