Givi V35 Vs. Oem Side Cases

As I look for a used VFR to buy I need to consider my side case options. I currently have V35 side cases on my 650R. They are on always. I love them and use them every day. What is the general consensus (if there is one) on how these compare to the OEM side case in regards to looks and functionality?

I understand that the OEM cases will also fit a full face helmet which is an important feature of the V35 for me.

One thing I have on my V35s is integrated LED lights (brake, turn, running) that I got from admorelighting. These really help with rear visibility. Does anyone make such a kit for the OEM side cases?

I need to figure if out if I should include the V35s in the sale of my 650R, sell them seperately, or hold on to them to use on a VFR.
Thanks

My personal opinion is that if you've already got the V35 cases you might as well hang onto them and just get the mounting hardware for the VFR. They look very similar to the OEM cases.

If you do a search on V35 you'll find plenty of pictures of them on VFRs.

I've got the OEM cases, but only because a great deal fell into my lap a couple of days before I was set to order the V35s.

I love my OEM saddlebags. They fit a full-face helmet, and really match the looks of the bike. I bought a 6th gen for that reason. To me the Givi bags look just thrown on.

To my knowledge, there is no light kit for the side cases, just the top case. But it really isn't needed, as the lights look pretty good as-is.

I have the V35's and they look/work great on my 6th gen. They don't by any means look "thrown on" and as SpiralGray said it will only cost you a new mounting bracket as opposed to a whole new set of OEM luggage that you may or may not get color matched since they apparently stopped selling the colors from 02-05. I can fit a Shoei RF-1000 size medium in the V35's with no problem. Any larger though and you might have issues.

Both being made by Givi anyway it's really how much do you want to spend to color match?

The V35 outline closely resembles the OEM bags as well (which are also made by GIVI I believe). I think the V35's are definitely the best looking aftermarket bags for the 6th gen. I was just about to drop some coin on the V35's when David Silver Spares had some OEM bags in the color I needed and at the right price.

If I were you, I'd keep the V35's and buy the mounting kit for your VFR. The extra rear lighting is definitely a plus.

thanks for the responses. Seems like either case will work OK. Just need to sell my other motorcycle first.
