Hi guys, I stopped by my local Honda Dealership in Greeneville, Tennessee to talk VFR rumors.
The sales guy pointed me to a Zer0 mile 2007 VFR Burgandy ABS. The price on the sticker?? $8883
The salesman there (Mike) said there are some special financing options for this bike as well. I owe a load on my Monster but the discount on this bike is amazing! It stickered for 11500 and its 8883!!! So I am thinking I may be able to absorb some loss on my end and still feel good about the deal. What do you guys think?
Was the 07 vtec at 7000, or 6400 rpm? I am excited and nervous at the same time.
Anyway dont know if i can pull this off, but am going to try.
In the mean time if I cant, this may be too good a deal for one of you guys to pass on! Greeneville Honda, Greeneville Tennessee. Mike Kiker is the sales guy. He was really nice and took loads of time with me.
Not bad, but I thought that some members on this forum got one fr almost $1,000 less than that. Of course, I could be wrong. Not sure if it was "out the door" or not. If you pull the trigger, make sure they include the usual stuff with the new bike: manual, grab handles, tool kit?

I just closed yesterday on new 07 RWB with ABS and my final sale price was just over 9k (including freight and labor) so the base sticker price was around 8450. Still had to pay tax and fees, but I felt like that was a pretty good deal. This was from a dealer in Pennsylvania.
Vtec engages at 6400 (or is it 66?) Anyway, definitely happens before 7.
IMO, there are some great deal right now and the bike is awesome.

They did, but ABS is a $1000 option.
That is a good deal, yes, but if you owe money on your other bike, might not be the best deal for you. Check used as well.
I just did a search on eBay. There are nine (9) 2007 VFRs in the entire country listed.
There were two new non-ABS bikes for just a hair under $7k. ABS is a $1k option, so those are really $8k bikes if you think about it. That puts the difference at ~$900 (realistically).
One of them said it wasn't shippable, so for that one you'd need to fly/drive there and ride it back. The other one didn't state, so you'd have the same option, plus possibly having it shipped. Then you have to consider the potential hassle, and buying a bike unseen (even new bikes can have problems).
The price the OP got wasn't bad, but he could probably do a bit better. I picked up my 2007 ABS in May 2008 for $9k. It's 18 months later, so a better deal should be possible. However, I have a buddy who is a sales manager for a large dealership and the reason I didn't buy from him is because he said he couldn't beat the price another dealship offered me, his cost from Honda was more than that, so the dealer might be getting close to what he's into the bike for and it just depends on how badly he wants to get rid of it.
I just bought my 2007 RWB VFR a week ago, with factory hard bags, for 9200 OTD. This is my fourth VFR (93, 97, 99, and now 2007). This 2007 is an amazing bike.
I bought my 07 RWB (which also was an extra cost "item") in September 08 for $9000 w/o ABS. If they get near 8900 out the door for an ABS that is a really nice price. Look up KBB motorcycles used values for an 07 ABS with 0 miles and see what they say, or call your credit union and ask them what they say as far a value. Use those figures to negotiate. If the dealer held on to it too long and now has to lose a few hundred to make a prior poor decision go away, how is that your problem? Have the attitude "I really don't need this but I can help you out". If they think you are already riding it in your mind they got you. Remember, anything you buy that you can't ride home (i.e. E bay) has to have the shipping costs added to the price, which is not very cheap to do either. Good luck.

You can probably negotiate a better deal. Yesterday I saw a new RWB ABS for $8,499 at Al Lamb's Dallas Honda. From what I've heard, RWB ABS VFR's are getting hard to find (especially at good prices.)

You did pretty well if it's a non-ABS, but if it's an ABS model that's a steal.
Speaking of good deals on bikes, it's not a VFR, but my local dealer has two new, unsold, 2007 Yamaha YZF600Rs that they're trying to get rid of. They've got them priced at $4k each. I had a '97 and put 35,000 miles on it over seven years, mostly touring. It won't win you any races, and it's far from the lightest 600 out there, but if you want something comfortable that won't let you down, it's a steal.

I'm in Southern Honda all the time... and they have the bikes. Probably had 15 VFR's last time I was there.
About a month ago, they announced they got approval from Honda to drop the price on leftover CBR1000RR's... they had over a hundred of them there, and they were selling for $7900... unbelievable.
I'm also looking at a new 07 RWB, probably in another month or so. I found one, with ABS, for $8299. It seems like a good deal to me, from what I've researched. http://www.cycletrad...ABS%29-95437374
That's a pretty good deal, but there are better deals out there right now. I bought my 07 VFR w/ABS for $7,500 out the door. I visited and called around to a LOT of dealerships to get inventory and prices. Found the bike on eBay and called the dealership to buy the bike before the auction ended. In today's market for motorcycles, the buyer holds the cards. The more research you do to find the best price, the happier you'll be when you finallly buy a bike.
Honda has specials that you get $600 off the price of a bike if you pay cash or finance with another financial instituion and $300 off the price if you finance through Honda. Honda also is offering 3.99% for 36 months. Which are pretty good deals.
Best of luck with your decision and purchase. It is a great bike, I love mine.
Just my 2 cents if the dealer is sitting on a bike for over two years I would never agree to pay for freight and set up fees when the bike was uncrated two years ago.
go in with the point of paying x dollars and thats it. It is not like VFR's are flying out the door:)
I know a local dealership here just sold a new rwb VFR for $7999 and a quick search of traderonline shows this new one in AZ for $7500. They have three rwb's including one with 500 miles for $7000. If your local guys won't come down, it may pay to fly and ride. Somebody from this site that lives in Canada just did that for a new one here in town. Good luck!

I've been monitoring and reading these posts for two years now I guess. And finally, I just put my deposit down for one of those VFR's listed on ebay. A new 2007, non ABS, $6985 I'm picking up Sat morning. I'll have to pay a little over 6% tax on that, and another $30ish for title/licensing here in Missouri. But I am "officially" part of the wall now!
The way he explained it to me was Honda threw a $1000 rebate on the bikes, but you have to use their financing to get that. I told him no problem, because I'll kick butt in extra work and pay for it by the new year. I think 3 yr was 3.9%, 4 yr somewhere around 6%, and 5 yr was 7.9%.

The answer to the question in the thread title seems obvious to me: $8883 is a good deal, but not the best you'll find if you look hard enough and are willing to travel a bit to pick up a new VFR. :)
I bought a red 07 w/o ABS for 8600 out the door back in May. at the time I was looking across the country and found them for a little less but after you add shipping the savings was only a little and it seem like a hassle. I would imagine now's a better time to buy one and you can get a better price. On a side note I picked RED over the RWB, I still can't get over how the red looks like wet paint all of the time.

The used ones around here on Craigslist are going for more than dealers are asking for untitled 2007s. I mailed one person in Oakland and gave them a link for a new 2007 for $7500. They responded saying I should get the new one for that price but they didn't believe it was a real deal. Some people have had their VFRs up on craigs list for months and months at the same price.
Nobody has gotten a clue that in this economy, they're going to have to take less to sell it.
I'm thinking I'll go for the new one dark red one. I didn't want to spend that much money, but it's hugely discounted and I can't seem to find any 2007s in the $5500 range to make it worth the price difference.
Once you factor in factory warranty, thread life on new tires, and mileage, I'd have to save a few grand on a used one to consider not buying the new one.

See if they'll throw in the factory hard bags, too. I've heard that dealer cost is around $600. That's what I plan to do when I get ready to buy mine.

:+1: A local dealer here in N. Fla. is advertising hold over '07's at $6991 (non ABS). Add $1k for the ABS and BR has you right in the ball park. Be sure you hold on for "out the door," or the dealer will attempt to remove more $$ from your wallet than necessary.
Hi guys! Update. I am in the Honda family again. I am not quite on a VFR though. :goofy:
For some reason, I was able to cut a little better deal on a CBR. By the time I got well enough to ride, the VFR was more expensive than the CBR1000RR with lifetime engine warranty. I got the Red/Silver left over 08 model and nearly swapped payment book for payment coupon. I was amazed and since I still owed 6 years on the Ducati, I was able to swap, ADD GAP INSURANCE(which i couldn't get on the Ducati), and keep a nearly identical pay amount and schedule. I added 2 months to the end of my note because I had only owned the Duc for 14 months.
The ride to Chattanooga was torture. The Duc shook every molecule of my old overweight body at a frequency just short of rendering lard. :laugh: The total lack of wind protection for my legs created a constant battle to keep my knees from acting like airplane de-acceleration flaps. The soft squishy seat was like sitting in the mouth of a toothless alligator for 180 miles and will take some time to get over!
The ride back as you can imagine was a little better in some respects and worse in others. My bum will need to get used to the plank they use for a seat on that bike(I have the blisters to proove it!), and the bar position was a tiny bit low for a 180 mile super slab jaunt. All in all it was a much more pleasant ride back home yesterday.
Knowing that I was on a Honda for the same money, with GAP, without the painfully high cost of 7500 mile valve adjustments/timing belt replacement and all the other things made me a happy camper! I didn't loose any sleep over this deal.
