Radiator Fan Did Not Come On...then It Did?

This happened once before last year while at the same place and under the same conditions?! Both times it was approaching tolls on RT 95, both time in 90's, with miles of slow and stop and go traffic. Radiator fan did not come on....temp went up to 260F, pulled over and let it cool. Then at the next bit of traffic it worked?

I searched and found a fix for wiring up a manual override switch. A other options or ideas?

Check your coolant level. The sensor that turns the fan off and on is at the top of the left had radiator (right where the fan is). If there radiator isn't full of coolant, it is not getting an accurate temp reading and won't come on.

Like mentioned, check fluid level and for loose wires or bad sensor! :huh:
